every second of every minute of ever hour of those days as well.

Imagine being Champions of Europe but getting laughed at by 4,5 or even 6 domestic rivals who bettered you over 38 games. Wouldnt sit right with me. Rather be League Champions, the undisputed best side in the land and if we dont win in Europe, well.... theres 19 other sides we are better than.

ight just be me though..... and Fergie..... and you Ruff................. and most sensible people..........

For argument's sake would you really not want another 3 CLs just to get it right up that shower up the East lancs road?

Not at the expense of the league. I'd rather be out of sight in league titles.

The CL is a bonus trophy, finishing fifth or sixth while winning it doesn't sit right.

    Nope.

See we have 2 of the much harder to win CL anyway and having over taken their 18 titles record the 5 CL/EC thing they do.... its new;. They nevr mentioned it until we did what they said we would never do.

We know it hurts them, if we never won anything again it would still hurt them. Not just the fans but the entire club.

I actually agree but I'm sure ideally you want both so that you have the bragging rights for ever more. It's incredible how it's changed so dramtically in less than 20 years.

Not a clue mate and there's no real way to prove it, you can only go by someone's word and sometimes their maturity on here.

My point was that people on here have admitted they aren't from Manchester yet I've seen them criticise both ours and City's support.

Rather people were honest than pretending they come from on the doorstep of their club.

Be good to accumulate some more of course but I wouldn't be happy to see us simply target that at the expense of any effort in the league, like our good pals up the east lancs did.

Therefore it is not a valid criticism against United fans. I would bet my house that district line and the other prick aren't from anywhere near Chelsea.

Unless those people are supporting their own local club then it's just not a useable point.

Yet they do. Always. Because they've got **** all else to say.

Being born in Watford and brought up in London I can understand why some people resent Londoners supporting northern clubs though. My class was full of Liverpool fans in the 70s with a few United fans but I reckon less than half of the kids supported a London club. Even now a lot of my mates are united or Liverpool fans. I don't really care to be honest though must admit that in the past if people laughed at me supporting Watford a standard retort was "well at least i know where our home ground is"

While the Chavs boo Benitez but not Roman...because you all know that if you piss Roman off Chavski will be ****ed as you're a small club with a rich owner.

Not meant to offend United fans, just the ****stains that glory hunt and that includes the drips that do it with Chelsea. Also there really isn't much to say, I know United are the biggest English club so there's not much to criticise for me except to have a pop at the complete knobheads who gloat about United being so great ben though they're from nowhere near Manchester and to be honest on my experience the united and liverpool glory hunters are far worse than others.

I know what you mean, part of the reason I feel the way I do is the 94 FA Cup final. A fair few people in my class were southern United fans and gloated after a 4-0 win, why do they have the right to gloat about something they have no connection to?

Never had a problem with United as a club, always prefered them to win the title over their challengers in the 90s and early 00's v Arsenal.

See what I've said has been misconstrued. I would happily have what happened last season if we won the CL .. We don't win the league every year. I wasn't insinuating that we don't try to win the league .

Yeah, I know that also. And I get why.

When I first started going to United there was a faction called the cockney reds. Always baffled the **** out of me but that lot have always been about and went to all the games.
We were **** by the way so you could hardly call it glory hunting.

Now it's just a United nations tourist trap.

Yep - most of my mates supported them since the mid 70s so totally agree. The other thing is most of the circles I move in are second generation irish and united were always one of the biggest teams over there so it was a bit of a family thing for many kids - epscially given we never saw much live footie on TV in those days. I think there's also the glamour thing with United because of players like Best and the whole Busby Babe thing so even when you were a bit crap the club still had an aura about it.
