How long will we hold on to what i can only describe as the most dynamic player spurs has ever had. Pace , strength, vision, skill and a serious fitness level. Needs to cut down on the simulation though even Defoe is trying to get in on the act, they should leave that to Chelsea's Spanish striker.

I think, inevitably, he will go. When? Hard to say. That will depend on many factors, but I think safe to say that if we don't start challenging for major honours soon, then the chequebook mafia can't be held at bay forever.
As regards simulation, I think that yes, there has often been contact in the situations where he's been booked. However, he really doesn't help his own cause by hitting the deck at the slightest contact.
You can argue that referees should judge the situation at hand as they see it. But unfortunately, once you have a rep for being a diver - justified, or not - it tends to prejudice their decision making.

hes a fantastic player but not sure you can say the best ever, but if he carrys on progressing he will leave, unless we can match his ambitions.

Also he may want to play abroad, all the focus on his diving may drive him to move to real madrid.

Don't say that! Saying so results in twenty more Mail articles about him moving to Real Madrid in January!

Spurs had a lot to do with how he's come along. ALso he's a main man, he COULD go to Madrid and end up on the bench, others have made that mistake, Parker to Chelsea ruined his career for a bit when he would have been better off staying put for a while longer.

It would do Bale no harm to stay another 3 years playing week in week out unless United take him to replace Giggs

great player, but I can't work out why he'd want to go to Spain.

he plays in the best league in the world at the moment and switching to La Liga is not a good move. There's been 2 teams (and only 2 teams) for years who compete at the top, with no real competition. - boring! why would u want to play in spain after playing in the premiership? That's like having a few beers and then moving onto some shandy's.

Bale seems like a player who is passionate about football more than money. - La liga is a different game, which i don't believe would suit his style. For me, he's got to stay in the premier league, however, it's unlikely we'll sell to another prem club. So he might as well just stay with us! <laugh>

I don't get why you lot think the Mail are that anti-Spurs. Try being a Chelsea fan and reading the Mirror

I don't think we even want to think about being a Chelsea fan, never mind trying it. It's you who needs to look in the mirror.

    The Mail is just pathetic.

I think he will leave at the end of the season.

Even finishing in the top 4 isn't enough to keep him. He is good enough to be challenging for titles and champions leagues.

King why so negative, that's what he will be doing if he stays at Spurs. That would be a far greater achievement than just joining the current favourites and being just another player.

Don't lie Spurf, there is a bit of Blue in you deep down.

    I didn't say he wasn't, just don't think he's your best player.

like Modric is? really? this suggests that when these type of players play the lesser teams then they will destroy them. however i dont think that applies and does not happen often enough. People dont have a god given right to be challenging for trophies and quite frankly neither Modric or Bale has done enough to be granted that god given right...Mourinhio agrees with me about Modric it seems.

or is it good enough or better to sit on the bench at Madrid instead of playing week in week out for a top English club?

Very true. I think he's good enough to play at any club in the World, to be honest, but it's been suggested in Spain that he would be played as a left back at Barca or Real which is clearly not his best position.

Oh and he's not the best player in the league in my opinion.

Rare praise for Gallas? :p Seriously though, who's better? I'd argue Demebele's more important or that Lloris might be near his level but that's not the same as being better.

We know Bale is one of the best players in the PL. He was voted the best by his peers a couple of seasons back and regularly features in the PFA team now. We know what he's capable of at his best- and Aston Villa gave him every opportunity to show it last week.

But to be considered top of the highest class of players, he needs to perform at his best more consistently. He hasn't been a match winner often enough, particularly in close games, against the better teams, hen a moment of brilliance or opportunism or calmness under pressure would win the game. van Persie does this regularly, so too others, notably Aguero to great effect as we know!

I'm not convinced he would be a player who would relish playing abroad either. His game is suited to the English game where his pace and athleticism make him so potent when counterattacking. There will be far less opportunities to play that style in La Liga. Ronaldo has that to his game, but relies more on his touch and close control. Bale is not at his level in those aspects of his game yet.
