Hmmm maybe should have checked the prices beforehand, 10/11 is not the most appealing price! Oh well, a double with Electrolyser it is then!
Morning gents. One I like today but the withdrawal of two runners in the 2.20 puts me off slightly. Mischievous Milly won incredibly well on hurdling debut after a couple of decent if not unspectacular bumper performances. This is obviously a rather drastic leap in quality of opposition but there's every chance she'll be very competitive. 13/2 is a hell of a price but as there's only 7 running it's half the stake win only. Good luck today boys.
One bet today cruise in style 1:10 taunton. Home run is rapidly improving but cruise in style has a 15lb turn around in the weights from when they last met, and although home run was much the better horse on the day he did get first run on cruise in style when his jockey got him stuck behind a few horses on the bend at taunton. Anyway i think 9/1ew is a fair enough shout t0 reserve the form or atleast push him alot closer this time.
Which makes the money for Master Flightt in the 1.45 look interesting. 3lb out the the handicap, and well beaten twice under rules, but the market, as they say, certainly speaks in his favour.
Hi guys, shame to see the end of an era yesterday with the C4 racint team presenting their last fixture. It was becoming a bit of an old boys network though. The presenter at the final credits was close to tears. Claire Balding will however do a very professional job and she commands respect within the sport.
Archers that is spooky you putting that up as I was typing the last post. Master Flight is my days only bet on his h, cap debut. Must be an omen.
Let's hope so, niksboy. In which case some of the winnings would have to roll over to horse 16 in the 4.00.
Taunton 2.55 - Fine Parachment 13/2 Was travelling well LTO and jumping superbly when making a slight mistake 2 out and unseating rider. Might not have won that day but would have gone close I feel, has been dropped a couple of pounds for that so I'm prepared to give it another chance.
Just came on to put up Fine Parchment as well. I'm yet to be convinced by Deiredh Re over fences and Fine Parchment is well handicapped on his old form which he looked like taking a step back towards LTO. If he puts in a clean round of jumping then I can't see him being far away.
Morning guys tis still the season to be jolly so I'm told!! Lol Bostonbob I really like HONEST JOHN 2.55 Taunton don't suppose you've been told anything regarding this have you? either way I'm on @4's
Morning all, hope everyone has had a good Xmas. I see that the Forum has been on fire of late. Well done to all. Will do Arley Hall in the first at Lingers and the 2 Henderson shorties at Taunton. But my main 2 will be Home Run and Sofies Spirit.
Morning all, thought i'd share this old doc on Harry Findlay. It's a good watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3I-F5ctHfA
Fortinbrass beat a next time winner of Hannons at Newmarket not long ago and he is now rated 89. Fortinbrass looks fairly handicapped off 78 therefore and can overturn the more fancied stablemate.
The sign of a great forum. Two people have a bit of a fall out and it sorts itself out. Well done everyone. This inside info topic does take me back a long way. Long ago I had info from a bookie's runner: 1. I think it was Flying Bee would win at Windsor. It duly won at 7/1. 2. Yellow God was going to win and it duly beat the favourite 3. A dog was going to win at Reading. I went there, backed it and it won (2/1 I think). When I was in my early 30's I was at the races and got talking to a stable lass who was walking off the stable's winner (I think it was at Ascot). She said they had a fantastic 2yo that hadn't been out yet but that, after it's début, it would never be odds against again. It was their future star and Derby hopeful (bred in the purple). When the day eventually came I took the afternoon off work and went in search of a betting shop. On my way I drew out £200 to put on this future super star. When I got to the betting shop it was 4/6. "****", I thought "not putting £200 on an odds on débutant". But the stable lass was so convincing, and they were about to go off so I rushed to the window and slapped £100 on it. ****ing thing never looked like winning and, as far as I know, never won a race. The moral of this latter, 100% true story, is that there was probably someone else in the yard, who knew it wouldn't win. I suspect if all the people in the yard were asked about any race concerning their horses one would not get the same answers from all of them. In the Gold Cup won by Denman they were certainly divided. It so happened that a friend of ours had very close connections with someone in the yard (close enough to share a box in the stands) and they were adamant that Denman would win. Again, it depends which ones you talk to. Stick (and others) pass on information, which they don't have to, because this is a great "family forum". Obviously some info is good and some will be not so well informed. We can take it or leave it but I think I speak for all of us that we certainly don't want to discourage the passing on of information. I think most of us will look at the information and then study the race in a different light to see if we agree the horse "has a chance.
Nice post as always Ron and 100% agree. Some tips / info are very good indeed and others not so. Where i find it useful is if i actually fancy something and see that someone's on here either saying that it is fancied or that actually they donlt think it will win as it makes me look at it a bit more carefully.
