I hope it turned out to be more fun than what they witnessed at the game.

    Did you?

I'd suggest most people were thankful of what we achieved under his watch. Now, though, he's consigned to the history of our club. When we say 'we', we mean. as always, Norwich City. When he says it, he means Aston Villa. He's an employee, we're the constant.

Thanks and all that, but I no longer care whether he succeeds or fails.

Wonky I backed you on the QPR thread and I'm genuinely interested in what Lambert's up to as well. I think it was Cruyff who likened it to rubber necking going on the QPR board and he's probably right. I have zero interest in QPR as a club but i'm definitely interested to see what QPR fans are discussing in their situation. Likewise our best manager in years only moved on relatively recently so in my opinion, it's fair that we keep tabs on how he's doing. I'm 100% behind Hughton & NCFC but I don't get upset about people discussing Lambert.

Well that's certainly my view both Lambert and QPR are legitimate subjects of interest.Although I am mainly interested in Norwich I will for example be watching QPR-Liverpool later.I want Rangers to lose but that's primarily about us maintaining a margin above the bottom three. If QPR were on 25points I would most likely not be interested.

Now whilst I've never liked the idea of a manager returning to his former club as the 'prodigal son' routine very, very rarely ends up in anything but disappointment - Mike Walker for example - I can definitely see Lambert coming back should he get the sack at Villa as there is still a job for him to do at Carra Rud.

I couldn't help noticing the shortage in programme sellers behind the Barclay yesterday, he'd be absolutely perfect <ok>

<laugh> He would also be good announcing the timing of the "golden goal timed by Croydon's, the jewellers" - except nobody (still) can understand a single syllable he utters!

Wouldn't surprise me if Hughton got nicked to see Lambert back.

Hughton is not stupid. He is going nowhere. He said when talking about John Bond's 7 years at NCFC, that if he could be our manager for that length of time, he would consider himself to be a lucky man. I haven't heard anything said about him or by him which would suggest he doesn't mean this.

I'm sure he does mean it but the reality of being a player or manager of Norwich is that if you do well, other teams come circling.

Sorry, but I don't think that is current reality. We are no longer a selling club. We are well run, financially secure, and playing at the level of a mid-PL club. We have a Top Level Academy. We are the perfect place for a sensible, decent manager to ply his trade.

Lambert was highly successful at Norwich - he doesn't become a bad manager because he leaves to manage another team. Villa's results of late have been so bad you wonder how they managed to stuff us 1 - 4 in the League Cup

Morning Wubba! Hope you had a good Christmas! I see you make no mention of the anti-Norwich thread on your board full of hate, lies and homophobia!

Pot - kettle, kettle - pot!

Whilst I can understand Wonky to a point, it seems to me that if you don't want Lambert threads then don't read it. I think it's natural for us to be interested in what happens to PL. I'll always be grateful to him for what he was a part of here over 3 years (it wasn't just him, as is now being revealed at Villa). His cavalier style isn't working as well now that he hasn't got a natural leader like Holt and the character of a strong squad. Benteke is a good striker, but he's not a battler like Holt and nobody there is leading by example. Young players are all very well, but they become very vulnerable when things go pear shaped. I actually felt sorry for him watching MotD last night. To concede 15 goals in three matches without any reply must be soul destroying (remember how we felt after 1-7 to Colchester or the Man City results last year). Swansea away is going to be a tough one, but he needs to turn it around somehow.

I can see CH being the next ROI manager, if he has a couple of good seasons with us

Afternoon Dave. Well it appeared to be a Bradley Johnson thread that swords yet again turned into an anti-homo rant. I don't take any truck with stupid comments like that and thus avoid such rubbish. I do agree it's all a bit tiresome the 6 fingers inbred mines a turnip stereotyping even if it is true

Anyway it's the battle of the overspending underachievers this afternoon. no doubt you'll be watching our WCT labou to achieve anything?

If you reread what I said I'm merely using it as a point that it's hypocritical not that I'm really that bothered about the Lambert threads to an extent.

Lambert is of interest to Norwich as he is our former manager. Very recent former manager.

QPR are...QPR. Wtf have QPR got to do with Norwich? Don't get it.

And sorry if you felt I insulted you wonky <ok>

    No worries, irdan! <ok>

But I think we're allowed to talk about football, also QPR got promoted with us and are making the stories.

I've also posted a thread about the two yellows and no red in the Sheffield Wednesday game, I'm sure that's fine.
