Take a look on the Saints board, check out the link one poster left on our match day thread!

It clearly states that both Ryan and Cameron "Have to miss one 1st team game due to 5 yellows" IF that's wrong then great news but I'm sure that link is official.

Don't think it will make a lot of difference to us though as you still look very strong. Hope it is a good game and you don't take us apart as goal difference means a lot down where we are.

Yeah, I saw that, but didn't think he's picked up 5, checked on bbc and the Stoke site, both say it's 4, and both say Shawcross is on 5.

I think with Shawcross and Cameron out it gives us a great chance to nick at least a point from this game.
Stoke have been excellent at the back this season and that includes injuries you have sustained but losing two main stay defenders for even one game could leave a small chink in your armour, well heres hoping.

Would be better to have just the 1 main defender missing if Cameron is only on 4 yellows as said previously i would be much more confident.

I think that the amount of yellows is under dispute, some say 4, some 5, guess we'll find out this afternoon.

According to the Premier League website, which is up to date, Cameron has 4 yellow cards. But as you said Jowler, we'll find out this afternoon.

I think that a few people might be underestimating how important Cameron and Shawcross are to the team, If they are both out then we bring in Upson (who hasnt played a competative game since 1987) and Shotton who is a liability at full back. I honestly believe that its a massive blow for us, and hope we get off to a good start as I think we will concede today and so we will need to score 2 to win. I still think we will win but our defense will be nowhere near as strong as normal which worries me as a strong defense is what our team is built around.

I hope we keep a clean sheet but with the two players mentioned above we will be very vulnerable.

The players missing won't make a difference. Stoke will just bring in two other Rugby beasts. This match is a football team playing a rugby team - shouldn't go ahead. I just hope Saints escape with all their limbs intact!

Just another WUM on here, criticising our style of play and calling us a rugby team. We are 8th in the PL having beaten Liverpool with a brilliant performance. Nothing wrong with the way Saints play but you concede too easily IMO and perhaps that is why you are in the position you are in. I enjoy reading the opinions of other teams fans but comments like yours are not relevant and are not wanted. I hope todays game is a cracker and may the best team win

It's certainly not a forgone conclusion that Stoke will win. I hope we don't concede but, Boxing Day apart, we haven't been scoring many ourselves so it could be a return to normal service. 1-0 to Stoke or a low scoring or goalless draw.

If we avoid defeat it will be 10 games undefeated with an 'easy' trip to Man City on New Years Day to follow!!

    Oh well,
It was a great game to watch, we were woeful first half but credit to Southampton. And to come and a get a pt 2nd half was brilliant. IMO Shotton should not be anywhere near the 1st team and WHY did Wilko play at left back?

    Onwards and upwards. <ok>

I feared the worst when the 2 players were suspended, looked ****e at the back but it was a brilliant game, well done to southampton but if we had had Shawcross and Cameron we would have won comfortably IMO. A good point after a poor first half and going down to 10 men.

Have to give you credit for the way you came back second half. All in all a draw was probably fair.

Yes, a draw was a fair result, good luck for the rest of the season and I hope you stay up.
