You all know I love this sort of thread by now <laugh>

Who would you say are the best XI players in The Championship? Or at least the best you've seen so far. Use any formation, though I'll be sticking to an old fashioned 4-4-2.

    I'd go for:

    ----------Hamer----------
    Solly---Cort---Woodgate---Bridge
    Zaha---Murphy---Perkins---Sako
    -----Austin---Beckford-----

I agree Perkins isn't one of the 'best' CM's, but in all honesty I can't really remember a CM who I've noticed against us as much as him.

As for Beckford, he hasn't been as prolific in the past couple of season's, but he's one of only a few 'natural goalscorers' in the league, and he has a Premier League touch and control. The type of player who really puts the wind up CB's. Though I guess the same argument could be made about BWP...

On a good day I would say a back 4 of Solly Morro Cort Wiggins in the best in the league, especially as a unit...

    I love Pritchard.

    I sniggered.

Feel guilty. I love Pritchard even more now. You bastard.

All the same, don't think a 'best' team should include more than 1 Charlton player.

It depends if they get to see us often, I was racking my brain to remember a decent CB and just went with Cort in the end, I think anyone who saw us (apart from Ipswich) would say Solly and Hamer would start appearing on people's lists, but apart from that no, no one of ours would be on it. But that might be because you have fans who will be bias towards their own players anyway.

Ted, Millwall are saying that ****tu is having a monster season.... I doubt if he will get any votes here

Hudson has been a rock for Cardiff

Neither would get any votes here..... that's the problem, people will always overrate their own.... remember that Chris Solly didn't get into the L1 team of the season last May

    Speroni
    Solly - woodgate - C. Davies - bridge
    Bolassie - Perkins - m. davies - Zaha
    Ward - CMS

I've tried to base it on performances against us, but taken liberties with some of the selections. The sight of 3 palace players is done through gritted teeth, but are stand out performers this season.

Perkins and ward aren't the best players in their respective positions, but both have had stormers against us and were names that came straight in to my head.

Hamer has to be the keeper and solly right back as for up front much as I despise them palace have to have Murray .Also Zaha has to be in the side with bollassi on the bench.
They are the best team I've seen at the valley so pleased to see them slipping out of the automatic places.

Can't see why anyone would snigger. I believe he has more than justified his name being pre printed on the team sheet. He was outstanding when he came on against ipswich and was a tireless, fittest player on the field yesterday who broke up a lot of Derby attacks. With Solly and Hamer I reckon he has more than justified his selection in your list Tewks.

    Cheers, SVC.

Just love watching this guy play - I've bored everyone to death by telling them how brilliant I thought his performance was at The Massive Club last season and every time he lines up, you know you're going to get 100% effort out of him, even when things aren't going right.

You could see he was really hurting at the final whistle yesterday after hitting the bar, but I lost count of the amount of attacks he broke up and he made a couple of fine interventions in the last frantic ten minutes.

    A real Charlton player.
