I'd argue it is without question a better team than our only previous team to be promoted from this level.

    Discuss.

I think it probably is, what would challenge it? The 4-3-1-2 of our early Prem days. That was a good side, especially the front 3 of Geo, Cousin and King were a real handful, especially if Cousin could be bothered. I was pondering today whether Aluko could be our best ever player too, but I'm told Raich Carter was indisputably City's greatest player by a country mile, not that I'll ever know.

For entertaining this is a super team, it has a couple of weaknesses such has not putting enough of chances that are created into the net and without Myler the midfield/ forward line are a bit on the small side but overall they are great to watch fantastic movement , great passing and hopefully heading towards been the best, i will tell you at the end of the season

I think you could put Windass up front to improve it.

You can't compare the PL team with this level so I'd say it's probably the best second division Hull City team I've seen personally. Others will say Waggy, Chillo, Houghton, Butler et co were better. Our defence currently is surely better - their attack was special though.

But I'd say this current team would beat our PL second season outfit comfortably and outplay them too. Maybe only Myhill, Hunt & Turner would get a look in.

Would this team have kept us in the Prem in 2010, do you think?

We have our Best owners ever,

Steve Bruce WILL become our best manager ever.

And we just need a modern day Waggy then we will have our best team ever..

Still like Boothferry Park better then the KC, though IF we get a standing area that might change

This is going to sound a bit negative, but it's not supposed to be, I'm just not sure how to word it better.

The football we're watching from the players is a delight and it's a great team effort. my potential negative is, how good are the opposition? If I said Leeds were a total bag of ****e today, a bag of ****e would complain at the slur, yet they're still in realistic touching distance of the play-offs.

From memory they were a bit special at home but tended not to be able to attain the same levels of performance on away trips, which I think was probably largely down to having a very good attack and midfield but an average defence.

Whereas our current team have everything except a regular goal scorer and I suspect if we get one in Jan, we could really breakaway along with Cardiff and cement an automatic place well ahead of the end of the season!

You can only beat what's put in front of you. This month Ive heard 3 managers say we're the best team they've played this season.

No dispute here, we're effective and pleasing on the eye, doing it the right way.

This team is playing the best football I have ever seen Hull City play. Whether it is the best ever team depends upon what it achieves

The team's good, but the general quality in the Championship this season has been appalling. Teams in the play-offs can go on runs of one or two wins in a dozen matches and still be no more than a point or two outside of them

Yes - better than the Premier sides too. There is so much fluidity in the side it's frightening. We just need that striker, look at how many chances flashed across the goal v Leeds? A goal poacher could have had 3 or 4 at least!

silly discussion. I d argue the team of the mid to late sixties was better. but then so was football as a whole......

although I wasnt there myself, I also believe the Viggo Jensen team was quite a good un.

we are all getting very excited because we thrashed a very very poor Leeds team today. Calm down. Everything may be different on Wednesday morning!!

You're a smart guy, I'm sure you understand that relative results within a league do not indicate the quality of the league.

You could only make a judgement like that if you compared the teams to those in other leagues, which of course isn't possible.

Personally I reckon it's a strong league in terms of there are hardly any bad teams, but there are also hardly any really good sides so in that way it's weak. We're 2nd without being clinical at any point, Palace are 4th without being anything special at all and Leicester are 4th just by being organised and disciplined really. Last year's Championship had better teams at the top but worse teams at the bottom.

I actually firmly believe that the Chamionship is the best (ie most competitive and entertaining) league in the world because of the prize at stake. Unfortunately, the prize is then the Murdoch League, which isnt the best (ie most competitive and entertaining) league in the world. Unless of course you prefer to listen to the blinkered ex-pro pundits and Sky producers who have a vested interest in maintaining that myth!
