The table at the end of the season will say who are the better sides. The current table shows the second place at least is very much up for grabs.
Not home and away, though. Still plenty of change to be had. I'd put money on most sides changing positions between now and the ned of the season, such is the wonder of form.
1) Cardiff 2) Hull ------------ 3) Boro 4) leicester 5) Watford 6) Palace That's how I see it going, although there's usually a late arrival that really hits the ground running around March. You'd be a fool to expect the league to change drastically, it very rarely does. The great thing is we've still got all the sides around us to play at home, rather than away (with the exception of Palace).
Out of that table, we've played 3 away. Only the other 2 yet to play away and we got a draw and a win last season For what it's worth, I expect you to drop out of the top 2 (purely because I think injuries will take it's toll and I can't see much depth in your squad) and I think Middlesborough or Palace to over take you. Leaving us, your good selves, Forest (annoyingly I think they'll be good under McLeish) and one of Palace and Boro. Good luck picking a winner from those 4, may the best side win.
I think Cardiff will win the league. And 2nd will be one of Leicester, Hull or Middlesbrough 5th I think Palace will probably get it and 6th place is wide open. You cant rule out Brighton, Watford, Forest, Derby, Millwall or Leeds
The thing is, it's a dangerous game to predict this early. You could look like a real fool. 7 points is only a 3 game swing. 12 only a 4 game swing. With 21 games to go, nobody is safe.
I know what you mean. We are favourites every year for some reason but apart from this season never show any capability of putting a decent winning run together Cardiff are always at the top but choke in the final 3rd of the season. Hull are on some run but that will end eventually and probably go into a slump for about 5 games Boro are nothing special but they are pretty consistent this year Palace started like a house on fire but have cooled in recent week. But I fancy them with Ollie to make the play offs. Then someone always puts a late run together and gets 6th place
You can usually tell by Christmas one of the sides that will be promoted (that would be Cardiff this year), but even these sides don't always win the league. You're just one point above Boro so I really don't understand your extraordinary confidence. I understand you want your team to go up, but you could drop out of the top two in your next match! The table can change radically at any time. We were top of the Premier League at Christmas time in 2000. We finished in 13th. 2013 could quite easily turn into a disaster for you.
Personally, don't think Palace have a prayer of top 2 or finishing above us. Murray is carrying that team on his current form and if Zaha leaves that could hit them hard too. Don't rate Mcleish and don't think Forest will be top 6 unless they invest massively in January. Middlesbrough and Cardiff could be the top 2 but I think we've got more about us than Middlesbrough, our away form could keep us in front of them.
Doesn't show anything of the sort. You've had different fixtures to us, so until we've all played the same fixtures (ie end of the season) you can't really judge. One set of fixtures we have both played are against each other. We won those 4 points to 1.
I see you haven't mention the biggest threat to the top two - us! I think Palace will lose players in Jan. Boro and Hull are about on par. You may end playing each other in the play-off final after we take second place.
Some Hull fans need to realise a week is a long time in this league. In some weeks there can be 9 points up for grabs. Its not like the last 2 seasons where both of us were pretty ****. Both sides are capable of putting decent runs together. But both teams will hit slumps aswell when they cant see where the next win is going to come from. Thats this league for you
Hull won't go into a slump... The team we have will get better and we will add to what we have ... I think the same for Leicester also ... Don't think either of us have got to our limits , capabilities yet .. On the other hand Palace and Cardiff won't improve in my opinion. . 3 points for a win , we can both catch Cardiff and overtake them.. Going to be a great 2013 .. Have faith ... We are both going up .. Of course Hull as champions !
Hull will hit a slump soon. Every team does. Your current run wont go on for ever just like ours didnt. We won 6 out of 7 earlier in the season and that put us top of the league. It was never going to last the season. The season is too long for you not to hit a hard patch
I remember you making posts like this when neither of us were anywhere. Each week it seems more and more likely that you may be on to something!
22 Amos 02 Rosenior 15 McShane 14 Cairney 16 Olofinjana 11 Simpson 33 Proschwitz That was Hull's bench today. I don't see enough strength in depth for them to carry on and I don't see a player in their side who will keep playing well regardless of the rest of the side. (i.e. Murray for Palace). I'll reserve judgement until we've seen the all important JTW to pass.
