This result has been coming all season, we have been so poor all season and to an extent gotten away from it

 

I can't wait for the (inevitable) "Demba Ba is the reason we're cack and lost to Arsenal" thread... Think the game highlights just what bollocks that view is.

Awful, awful, horrendous defending, from Colo to Santon to Simmo. Horrible. They truly are **** at their jobs! Have so much sympathy for Pardew, he definitely isn't telling them to stick the clown music on the background and give away such sloppy nonsense. Seriously, our defence today was only marginally better than the worst performance, the Arsenal fans... Suppose it must be the only place in London you can hear yourself think, so £1,000 to sit in peace and quiet might be quiet cost-effective.

Expected nowt, got nowt. Effectively a 4-0 defeat at Arsenal, plenty teams would take that!

Again, forget these games for Newcastle – they will NEVER define our season. Damage done at home against the rest of them, during a season where the rest of them are quite staggeringly poor.

Cheers to the FA for a traditionally horrible fixture list, roll on 2013! Speaking of January, just imagine what Arsenal would be like if they had Demba Ba up front?

Makes the journey home feel so much longer after a result like that.

Getting beat is one thing, but getting humiliated is another.

 

We have been crap all season, we were crap for most of the backend of last season as well - injuries have cost us yes, but not to the point of losing games to such heavy scorelines it is absolutely ridiculous.

Feel for the travelling fans, but they will find consolation in a pub.

It's no good playing well for a few minutes of the game, showing a bit of desire, if we get hammered or lose anyway - might as well keep it tight and try and nick a goal - but then I forgot we don't even have a defense...

 

I'm quit surprised at how angry I feel, but the damage is done, roll on January, at least we will know where we stand, all the speculation was beginning to annoy me!

 

Pards isn't best known for his substitutions.

 

I don't agree that we were bad as a whole. For large parts of that match we looked more comfortable on the ball than a team renowned for keeping possession well. We just suckered ourselves tactically a bit with the stupid high line and letting them counter attack us, should have been the other way around, we aren't the bloody home team!!!

Absolutely no excuse for that defensive performance whatsoever, and poor Krul, who has been so horrendous of late, couldn't do much today. It's a bit cheeky some of our defenders ask for premier league wages the way they play!

The stupid postponement gifted them the win in my opinion, and hopeless defending gifted them a thrashing...

This isn't a great Arsenal side too by the way – we showed that with our passing and possession first half.

But you know your defense isn't up to it if Theo Walcott bags a hat-trick, he'll probably never score another one in his career. Giroud can't hit a cow's arse with a banjo, came on for 5 minutes and he should've had one too!

We ran out of steam badly today as I think we both pointed out we would prior to the match. Their winter break was always going to tell at some stage. They are an in form side and I'm not worried about either result. Its disappointing to score 3 away again and get nothing but we were up against the two best attacking sides in the league.

I look forward to the moronic "we're going down", "we must sack Pardew", "Demba is to blame" threads aplenty. While the individual errors are still rife, I'm quite happy with our levels over the last 6 games. Playing really well and once we get our defenders/goalkeeper to tighten up and cut out the errors we'll be fine.

 

strange , i was watching a stream and even i could hear them , maybe they dubbed it on over the video eh ?
