We're actually 3 points up on the fixtures from last season, though: http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/186903-Points-Comparison-with-Last-Season Not sure which is the better indicator, to be honest.
We're at 1.8 ppg, compared to 1.818 or something like that for the whole of last season. My read is that we're doing better, much better, considering 1. Two "disasters" already this year: the transition (with players missing), and the injury epidemic 2. Last year's ten game winning streak occurred in this period. Of course half a year means nothing, but if we can keep up this rate of success with most of our key players healthy (and if they stay healthy) we'll do just fine.
Well done lads, massively impressed, even though I know you weren't bang on it. Probably the best side at the SOL season to date even not at your best, one of them when you leave not too disappointed to lose, even though both goals were avoidable. Re Bale, forget him, Defoe flung himself on the deck several times, I actually thought Bale was clipped. I'd say you are nailed on for top 4, and all the best
No worries mate, I'm a football fan, I can accept anything so long as the lads have a go, which we did, sometimes the oppo are just better than you, and that's acceptable. Lennon was superb, by the way, as was Sandro. May I suggest that if you bought Ba, you'd score shedloads, Adebayor looks a bit disinterested, his miss was right in front of me, and it was sheer lack of concentration, IMO.
Another good performance, showed good character in the second half when it would have been easy to drop our heads. Thought Lennon was outstanding, and has been one of our understated performers so far this season. Glad we could give Verts a rest as well and still come away with a win, felt we were pretty solid apart from their goal. Can't help but wish we were playing away from home every week. Naughton has looked impressive at left back the last two games, maybe he has felt the pressure of a returning (although that went very quiet?) BAE.
I thought Dawson was bordering on flawless, watched him closely as we have been heavily linked. Why would you even be contemplating a sale of him rather than binning Gallas (if you had to bin anyone!). I appreciate Gallas maybe uses the ball out of defence better, but to be fair all Dawson has to do is give it short to Sandro, Bale or Lennon, he's more than capable of that.
YES! I hadn't had the thought actually, but considering Naughton was very tidy today, Vertonghen can play there and BAE isdue back, why don't you give us Rose for nowt, we'll buy Ba and give him to you. Then, not only do we get to keep Danny boy, but we also get the joy of snaffling the Toon's top scorer, even if it is a business only transaction. Sounds ****ing ideal.
Gallas is probably on the way out at the end of the season and isn't worth anything in the transfer market, MON. Still good for a game every 10 days or so, but we're really waiting for the return of Kaboul and Assou-Ekotto. I think that Villas-Boas can see the good in Dawson, but his overall philosophy doesn't play to the big man's strengths, unfortunately. If he does go, then he'll certainly do a good job for whoever signs him and he'll always get a good reception at the Lane. One of those players that would run through a brick wall for the team.
"Completely impossible. We have big expectations for him in the future. Our idea is that he comes back to Tottenham next year." - Villas-Boas on Rose.
You reckon that's your man under instruction to get the fee up? Let's be honest, Levy knows how to snaffle a few quid from us don't he!
Hard to tell. I think Villas-Boas plays his cards a little bit closer to his chest than Redknapp. Looks like the perfect comment to the press though, for me. If we want to keep him, then he's been given all the encouragement that he needs. If we want to sell him, then we've made it clear that he won't go cheaply.
Seven wins in ten, five clean sheets, and the team showing more backbone than earlier in the season. Pretty good run we're on at the moment, with the bonus that the media are looking elsewhere so there's less pressure on us (plus I don't think Andre'll be linked with the England job anytime soon...)
Sorry.Say what you like.Bale was nudged not once but twice. You put something on the railway line and the train's going over!

I'd agree about Adebayor. His recent acquisition of a new contract, and his current attitude are not unconnected, IMO.
