Exactly Imaz! And apart from players at ManU, Man C, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool they are not much different talent wise from the rest of the PL Clubs either. A decent Manager, which Hughes wasn't, will get them playing, and organise them so they are as good as most of the rest. Lets hope Harry can do this quick enough and effectively enough to save us.
So the players have no responsibility for their own performances at all, and they way they played on Wednesday is Hughes' fault?
At first glance no. But Hughes got them on such a losing streak that the psychological damage and loss of confidence continues to plague us. Losing a home game in 13th place isn't great. Losing any game at 19th and points from safety is disastrous and that fear weighs on our performances. That's how Hughes's toxic legacy lives on.
This is by far the best post on this thread! I didn't see anyone not trying on Boxing day either. Mackie was a perfect example. he chased lots of lost causes and won corners he had no right to win. But when he got himself into positions to make a difference his form, confidence or ability let him down - the header, scuffed shots and poor passes. SWP is another example - rightly slated for earlier performances, he saw so much of the ball but although overall he had a decent game when he got himself into telling positions he couldn't deliver the accurate crosses or shots. For me harry has got to sort out the morale/confidence, if he can do that we have a chance. He has also got to sort out the set pieces particularly the corners - one went out for a throw in near the half way line!! Getting back to the OP, yes let's be angry with what has happened but lets trust harry to get the team giving 100% and get behind the team!
Which is what everyone has been doing all season yet the players don't give a toss. You're totally disconnected from what's going on right now mate. Having a go at the fans and not the players is disgraceful. As Sooper said, some people have misread the OP. He's not saying not to support the team, he's saying that despite giving the team all the support in the World, they've just thrown it back in the fans faces with their lacklustre efforts and nonchalant attitude. I'm sorry Thor, but blaming the fans instead of the players is unforgivable. Imaz I can understand because he's a wum but I'm very surprised at Ozzie. I've lost a lot of respect for that bloke.
Fans have a part to play for sure Seriously anyone look back over this season at the posters who knock continually he's no good sell him buy him we need this or that! I am deluded or even a ****** Yet I see infection The subject of the op is worth responding just on its own Dissolution will set in next Then a hint of madness... So at least then there will be a few to talk on here What exact points are these posters making ... You only sing when you're winning Many twists and turns yet And at half way and before that some say we are relegated What is happening to football fans Can you see it? You pick out a Green mistake? Yet every player has mistakes Why not do a Kenny flap? He was dreadful at times Green has in fact played well since he got back in and I know very well that you will turn on anyone in our team And you are not infected? Imaz is right we have the players at QPR now they are no different Stop crying because we aren't winning Even when we win it won't be enough We are QPR it how we roll
Could you perhaps elaborate, Dave? I've had my third Lemsip of the day and am finding your posts even more impenetrable than usual. Words of one silly bull for Mr Thicky Thicko Uber if you please....
Having started this OP, I just want to clarify a few things. Despite the fact that I fear the worst, like all QPR fans I will continue to hope and pray that we hit some form and put some results together. I genuinely commend all of you who continue to ignore the league table and the fact that we have one win at the half way stage of the season and no away win since Jesus was a child. With all the coaching staff available to both MH and HR I'm sure that our players have always been properly prepared for matches and given every opportunity to perform. A glance at our team and squad strongly suggests that we have enough quality to comfortably avoid a relegation scrap. Yet we are bottom. Why? Our players have under performed. I can't see this being anything other than a fact. If the will was there these players would have produced results regardless of MHs ineptitude. I wrote this post to highlight that IMHO the efforts of the majority of our players has quite simply not been good enough. Considering the ridiculous money that these guys are paid, I just find it unacceptable. If you want to see a team working as a team and for each other look no further than stoke. Don't anybody tell me that our players work that hard for each other, for our manager and for the fans. One or two might but the rest IMO don't. I basically am saying that very few of our players are providing value for money as regards effort, determination and desire. We have a squad full of overpaid under performing players who IMHO don't give a sh**e. Not all of them of course but unfortunately too many.
At the end of the day we need someone who really understands football back to sort out this mess. Gianni, dove sei finito? We'll get the red carpet out for you, all is forgiven. At least the Goons actually got success in the end which is more than can be said for Fernandes who looks like relegating us.
Ans that sadly is what the stats will show....which is exactly why anyone who uses stats as an argument has no idea about football Sad post Imaz!..IMHO
The Goons got us nothing at all. It was not until Flavio was shown the door by the Mittals because we, the revolutionaries, were at the gates calling for his head on the guillotine. Amit bought us success in promotion by recruiting one manager and sticking with him. Granted, they may have got their leg over with some fashion bimbos at the expense of some season ticket holders (C Club victims) but that hardly counts as footballing success. Mittals only mistake was not to back Amit sufficiently to buy them out at the same time. They would have gone rather more cheaply then.
