I've switched my ipod off now (watch it through the Sky app). I hate the last 10 mins when we're 2-1 up.
don't understand that logic, going down under false pretense is a dive for me, i.e. if the contact isn't enough to make someone go down. believe me, the player in my name was the master of this when he wanted to be! as for the yellow, if the ref thinks it's a dive he's got to be consistent and give the yellow.
How was that not a dive by the Sunderland player then? Ade barely touched him but he somehow lost both feet and fell to the floor.
There was contact. It's not the most convincing of penalties, but they've been given plenty of times in the past to many teams. It's almost like bale is being targeted. If it wasn't bale, and the ref didnt think it was a pen, he would have waved his arms and not given it, but let the game carry on. It's almost like they are trying to make a point with bale. Now he misses the next game. Never a yellow card
Statisticians Opta on Twitter: "5 - Gareth Bale has been given five cautions for simulation in the PL since the start of 2011-12. No other player has more than two. Fly."
Thank **** for that. Deserved win but we were lucky with the goals and there was lots of things wrong with that performance.
Made it hard for ourselves, but a hard fought win which puts us above Chelsea and creates a nice, albeit temporary, gap between us and the Goons. Bale gets a rest for the Reading game... It'll be interesting to see how the media deal with our recent form. They'll probably call Villas-Boas flukey or something.
