Kevin smith is the commercial director of Bristol City mate and he gets a wedge past that for working in a club shop.

Kevin Smith is involved in deciding how much you pay to get in and what colour the shirt you may buy for the kids. His role affects the ethos of the club and its fans, and he has been brought in to usher in new working pratices at BCFC which are unnavoidable. Some of his influences like increased access to the Eastend for all support and customer services reps around the turnstiles are an improvement.

"As for 'what do I?' - I'm Commercial Director. My responsibilities include ticketing, supporter services, marketing, advertising, hospitality, sponsorship and retail. I am not on the board and am based in the Sales Office (in the Williams Car Park).

As I've said on here before, I grew up a Saints fan. However having worked there as Commercial Manager between 2005-08 it's very difficult to remain a fan in the true sense of the word. I've been called a Birmingham fan - and having worked there for a couple of years I do look out for their results.

I've been at City since July 2011"

Directly quoted from the man himself!

"So Bristol City employee in supports someone else shocker!"

Doesn't really end the world does it?

Considering the massive influence the bloke has on fans its good that he is going to take in a game in the Eastend and travel with fans to Blackburn. You might not understand b-hero that many fans ideas events etc have to go through him. Much of what fans can think is important Kevin Smith change and has. Getting out amongst fans meeting them face to face building a rapport should help him do a better job. Being here only since 2011 means he wont have the experiences of fans and sometimes the knowledge. It can takles afns years to build things like say the supporters clubs but only one decision from somebody passing through like Mr Smith to unravel it.
