Frogs legs. It doesn't taste like chicken (it doesn't really have much flavour) but the texture is very much like chicken. Tripe (think the smell of cow pat in a barn and you're close). snail (rubbery). Curry goats pretty tasty as well, theres a takeaway near where I work in Salford does it a treat.

    |would love to try pretty much anything. Would definitively eat anything if it was a local delicacy like dog in Korea, or Guinea Pig in Peru.

Well put it this way, I consider myself a man with broad horizons when it comes to food. However, I did struggle to finish the dish, though I might try it again. As I said, it tasted like cow pat, masked by the strong sauce it was cooked with. The weirdest bit was the texture, it was kind of fluffy and rubbery all in one. You bite in and at first it fells like theres nothing there, then later it goes all chewy. Difficult to get used to.

I really don't see all that much difference between eating dog and eating pork or chicken. Maybe dog meat isn't very tasty which is why it isn't widely eaten beyond Korea? However, if you are going to eat meat, really in my view it should be all ok, or not at all. You can't pick and choose certain animals because they are 'cute' or are pets. Consider pigs and chickens, both very intelligent creatures which make good pets. How come it is ok to eat them? If you are veggie, then I respect your choice and don;t have a problem with this, but this whole picking and choosing on principle thing is total bollocks.

No can't accept that.. Some things are pets and shouldn't be eaten. Just like I wouldn't eat monkeys or apes or humans for that matter. That's where there is a line some things are unethical. And also it's not like the dogs get a nice life roaming round fields for 4 years.. No they're bred in s hit conditions kept in cages. Then slaughtered. The dirty f uckers eat cats and drop em in boiling water alive to get their skin off. You telling me that's acceptable?? You're argument is b ollocks is what it is.. By your reckoning everything is fair game.. It's not. It's not the same. Just because some ******s have pigs as pets that's not the same either. And chickens aren't pets or intelligent as far as I'm aware.. I've not seen any blind people wondering round with a chicken on a lead.. Or seen bomb chickens or pigs patrolling airports.

The meat we eat at least is in some way treated humanely. I could accept people on the point of starvation eating whatever they get their hands on, but their not. They eat it because they're sick f uckers. If everything is fair game as its local tradition you think Chinese medicine is acceptable?? Decimating endangered species just because some brain dead slant eyed ****ers think it will give them a bigger cock..

My argument is sound. I can honestly say if anyone I know ate dog I would beat the living daylights out them.

Didn't Robert Falcon Scott, Scott of the Antarctic and some of his crew resort to eating the bodies of their dead comrades when they ran out of food supplies?

Not sure but there was a football team whose plane crashed in the Andes and they all ate each other. There was a film about it.

They ate the ones who were already dead. And the ones who later died of injuries. Think the film was called alive.

Firstly, I am also very angered by the trade in poached creatures, but I think you are confusing the illegal trade in endangered creatures for 'traditional' medicines with commercially produced dog meat etc, which are two separate issues. I would never take one of these medicines with black rhino pancreas or whatever.

Your 'slant eyed' comment is racist by the way, which undermines your 'my argument is sound' statement.

Obviously I'm not suggesting people eat humans, but dogs are farmed commercially for their meat in Korea in much the same way as pigs and cows here. The cruelty faced there is bad and obviously this should be regulated, but that isn't an argument in itself against eating a certain type of meat. Coincidentally, you make the point about farmed dogs having a miserable life, what kind of life to you think the average chicken at KFC has had? A shortened one pumped full of hormones and anitibiotics (average 60 days I've heard?), so its hard to take the moral high ground on animal conditions. If you eat purely organic and high welfare meat, then fair play to you but millions in this country don't.

I strongly suggest you acquaint yourself with a chicken at the earliest opportunity, you will find them to be most curious and sociable birds, they would make a good pet. I have never seen a blind person being led by a guinea pig either and yet they are considered pets. Sorry if I'm being a cock but I'm just trying to make the point that what defines a 'pet' is a subjective thing which varies widely across different cultures.

    Over to you sweat band...

Have to admit, since we're on the topic of eating humans, I'm serial killer who eats babies. I go through a strict ritual though, having to rip off the head first and eat it, then I stretch the body with all my strength til the insides come out, then devour it.

By the way, that's *jelly babies, but you should have seen your face! <laugh>
