Generally the groundstaff at Priestfield do quite well at getting games to go ahead and we don't often suffer from waterlogging so im quite suprised its been called, especially this early. Northampton is only 2 and a half hours drive at the most.
A bit of a blessing really considering the form we are in. Hopefully when the match is re arranged MA will have got the team firing again...
I am really not happy with this cancellation. I had already arranged to be off for the Oxford game, then they went and moved the Wycombe game to a Monday, which I had to arrange off. Follow that now with this postponed game as I say not happy. The pitch looked fine on Boxing Day after continued previous rain has the situation therefore changed that much in 48hrs?
Best news possible I say, hopefully Port Vale win (yes you heard me right) and they take top spot from us, should scare the bejesus out of us and give us a kick up the aXXX. I would take second and auto promotion now instead of champions.
2 games in hand with the potential to do better when the 'blip' is sorted rather than go for another home defeat. Sarfend game is pivotal......and every player needs to give their all......and please get the team selection right. A Burton masterclass (as at Rotherham) and Kedwell's work rate. Where have Lee and Whelpdale's energy gone? So, we'll be off the top by 5pm tomorrow.......something to aim for then.

MA has had the sprinklers going full blast since 15 30 on Wednesday. Anything to avoid having to pick Kedwell at home.
That's funnier than you may realise They have been arguing on twitter over a conspiracy theory since the match was called off, oh if I'd only thought of that one. I might restart the conspiracy theory debate now.
There is nothing funny about it at all. The water level is up to row k and there are a couple of bodies floating on the half way line. One looks like Patang and the other one looks just like Maccammon.
Not funny at all bristol407, all I want to know is which one you diving in for to give the kiss of life
Joking aside, he last thing we want is a rift in the team, be they players or management. Both Kedwell and Jackman seem to be out of favour.....I can't think why as players they both give their all to the cause. The fans will make their feelings known, and this will be in the form of a much reduced attendance next game at Priestfield 5000 at best............things are not going well for a team that was coasting and is now, at best, stutteringly mediocre.
Not sure if anyone can confirm this but doesn't the suspension for yellow card limit raise from 5 to 10 from January 1st? And with several players on 4 yellows this cancellation could be a blessing.
Something obviously went on in the club a few weeks back which is now having severe repercussions. Most likely it is to do with selection policy or rotation policy or both. League 2 players just want to play every week and do not have the experience or culture to be at their best after a few weeks out. Allen can enjoy the accolades when things are going well but when it goes wrong and it is obvious that he is the cause then he has to expect the finger to be pointing at him. From the fans perspective, the way Kedwell and jackman are being treated looks crazy. All this is liable to get worse if loan players come in even if the symptoms are disguised for a week or two. The tragedy is that for the first time in years the club is injury free and everyone is breathing a sigh of relief because the game is postponed which of course is madness. Allen started off with a top class squad which wiped the floor with the opposition for the first couple of months. However he wants to fiddle around the edges, the solutions to his problems are there and he should be well able to sort it out with common sense. Sometimes the biggest decision a manager has to make is just to admit you have got it wrong.
brb. The kiss of life has already been attempted on Maccammon by Scally of all people but the tube that was tied round his neck would not quite reach to Scally's seat in the Upper Medway Stand. Nice to know there were no ill feelings.
Bristol.....agree wholeheartedly. Kedwell may not be the best striker in the universe but at least he doesn't have the off days that Burton is prone too. With Deon we are just hanging on for that moment of brilliance, Kedwell keeps plugging away for the benefit of the team. As I'm away for 90% of the time, how does the team play when both Kedwell and Burton play?
I always like Kedwell and Burton together! Weston used as a impact sub much like John Hodge used to be!
