Thats the thing, Chris Wood isnt. He has no loyalties to Millwall or Leicester. He thinks that moving to us is the best thing for him at this minute. We know exactly how you feel When we was in League 1 we signed Mark Davies on loan from Wolves, he wasnt really wanted there, he came here teared the league up then Bolton who was in the Prem came in and signed him. We wasnt happy with the decision but we understood why he went there because it was premiership football. At this moment in time there isnt alot between Leicester and Millwall therefore your not seeing the bigger picture but in the grand scheme of things you understand why Wood choose us
Would be a tough choice bearing in mind he's scored 11 in 19 under Kenny Jackets management whereas before that he only scored 21 in 99 at his other clubs
Better chance of Premiership football, bigger fanbase, Bigger stadium, better facilities, money, ambition to achieve his potential
Im sure he knows that, thats the challenge for him to replicate. He done well for both you and Birmingham but struggle elsewhere.
Because he's a realist? Not going to get in ahead of a strikeforce that costs well over 20m maybe even 30m. Shane Long - 7m from Reading. Peter Odemwingie - Rejected 4m bid from Wigan and have slapped an 8m price tag on his head. Romelu Lukaku (on loan from Chelsea) - 13m from Anderlecht, rising to 18m Marc Antoine-Fortune - 2.5m from Celtic.
Do you not think Leicester would sign similar players if they got promoted or would you be prepared to let Wood and Nugent lead your line in the Premiership?
True - apart from the small detail of us giving WBA a take it or leave it £1m final offer and you signing him for a deal worth £2m - and the £10k pw extra
No you must be wrong there TC..... it seems the Crisps KNOW the exact details of both the Wall and Leicester offers it seems they all went out for drinks with Wood last night!
Song for Wood to end this thread Takes me back to The Dunn Cow days
