If he was a bit younger I could see it but don't think we will get that. IF we did and that money could go straight to helping build the squad that would be the best outcome of it all.

Just came across the Di Santo rumor and I kind of like it for some reason. But once again, it is an ex-Chelsea player! Is it media just tracking anyone Rodgers has worked with or does he just feel more comfortable going after players he knows??

Butland apparently wants to be loaned straight back out , if the transfer is made, certainly to the end of the season, possibly beyond

    ALSO

Liverpool have held talks with Lewis Holtbys agent regards a move from Schalke, he has 6 months left of his contract, generally plays number 10 but can also play wide forward. Desperate to play in England, his dad lived in Germany is an Evertonian and was in the forces, but on more than one occasion he has said he would be happy to play for Liverpool

doesn't matter if he supports Everton or his dad does(they both?), in a strange way it might help.

Cara is a Blue and Baines is a red but play for the neighbours, but you wouldn't know it the way they both give their all for the club.

Did read about this earlier on LFC site, but dont know anything about the player, what he brings, any good etc.

Not sure I rate the guy as high as the media, but on a free, he's definitely better than certain other midfield options.

Him and Spearing could be the dream combo for years to come...

Also a VERY,VERY good source on twitter saying

Walcott to LFC , not dead yet.......................

My view on Butland is this, dont really know how good he is TBH, but surely whatever money is spent on him could be spent on a position more urgent, not on a BACK UP goalie, that might not even play for us for 2 years.I think most people will agree ...strange one

Like I say if Butland signed, possible loan back to Brum til summer 2013, and then possible loan for entire 2013-14 season to PL club

Butland is class <ok> Has great distribution for a Championship keeper and he has the keeping skills to match.

Only seen Holtby play a handful of times, he's impressed me in each, don't ever see it happening, though.

As for Walcott, he's the sort of player we need and I wouldn't say no. We need more goals from the wing and he fits the bill, get the lad in.

French radio station RMC Sport claim that Liverpool will make an offer for Nicolas Isimat-Mirin (21), defender.

Just saw this on here & the gossip section of the Liverpool website...

    No. Just no.

His stats (Link here) don't excite me to be honest.

This is his third season at Wigan. First season he scored one goal. Second season he got seven and he's on three so far this season. Hardly the type of player we need to score on a regular basis. I don't expect a striker at Wigan to smash in 20 in one season but I just don't rate him at all.

EDIT: Di Santo has denied it anyway. Says he's in contract talks with Wigan. (Link here)

  12. I want us to sign Di Santo less than Sturridge and Walcott!

Toblerone is right. If we drop to the levels of Di Santo, that is disasterous. The guy is more than useless.

Butland and loan out again might be good. However, Sturridge and Ince are already 2 signings, I can only see us getting 1 maybe 2 more. So if that is Butland, we will still be severely short.

  15. In principle it is a good move but do we have money to spend like that? I think we have bigger priorities ATM <ok>

    Nah Rodgers is miles better...

Jokes aside, I'm not sure. He scores goals but is he right for the top level?

I would be happy with Holtby, Walcott, Sturridge, Butland and Ince joining ahead of the start of next season. As long as we also sign another defensive midfielder who can cover/rotate with Lucas.

Our owners love investing in youth so they will allow it. I think it is important to find a long term young keeper. Train them up.

  18. As I said to someone yesterday, didn't we try that with Kirkland, Carson, Martin, etc...?

Really? From what I saw of him at the Olympics his distribution was piss poor. Maybe he had a couple of bad games in that instance but I thought that was one area he was very poor on.
