What the hell is the point? Why does he think God is a Man Utd fan? Why would he be, he isn't from London? Also what happens if someone on the other team is praying too? Does God give the win to the team that had the player praying the hardest? What if there's a Muslim on the other team? Does it become like God having a table football match against Allah? Finally, is god a football fan because I'm sure he has more important things to worry about than whether United win? Either way I can guarantee the selfish little **** isn't praying for God to save any poor african children.

Maybe he's just praying for God to help him play to his best rather than actually praying for his team to win?

Anyway, we have the officials, the FA, UEFA, FIFA, the UN and the UK government on our side so we might as well get God on board too <ok>

The point is that it is important to HIM.

He has been brought up in a country where religion is taken more seriously than current day Britain. Everyone is different and if Hernandez has religous beliefs then who are you to question him?

Roberto Mancini attended Mass in Swansea before the Swans v Man City game. He didn't do it to pray for a win (as it was the Swans won 1-0). He did it because that is how he has been brought up - attending Mass is part of his weekly routine.

Hernandez is entitled to pray as and when he pleases, as is any other player, whatever their religion, just as atheists have the right not to pray at all.......

    This.

It annoys me when people are mocked or belittled for their beliefs.

A good answer, unfortunately to a question that was fairly unlikely to have been genuine. I think the criticism Hernandez sometimes gets is probably the best example of those who want to see something to hate.
