    Afternoon Saints <ok>

First of all, I'm really looking forward to our FA Cup 3rd Round tie at St Mary's. It will be my first time to the ground so really looking forward to it. We ended up taking the whole 4500 allocation and the tickets sold out in about 20 mins! It's a game loads of us Chelsea fans are looking forward to and hopefully it will be a decent atmosphere.

Just wondering what the main away pub is in Southampton? We get into Southampton Central at about 12.45 so have a couple of hours to get a few drinks in... is there an away pub on the way to the ground or in the city centre?

There will be a lot of Chelsea fans not going who will be pissed off because there will be probably be plenty of empty seats dotted all over the place!

The King Alfred on Northam Road is for home and away fans, but there's no food there.

Yeah I know a fair few Chelsea fans that missed out on tickets in our end who have gone and got tickets in the home section... You reckon you will play a strong side?

Personally I think we'll give a few squad players a run out. Cant afford injuries to first teamers at this stage.

No Chelsea fans have got tickets for the home section, they are not on our database.

The plastics down here might get one if they know someone on database.

Best bet is going to Yates's on the way to the ground which has another couple of pubs around it. Or Bedford Place area of town with wetherspoons and a number of other pubs. All walkable from train station.

I think Lambert will certainly be rested, possibly Ramirez as well. personally I'd like Saints to field a strongish side.

Yates is the away pub every game! doubt any away will be let in the King Alfred! NO away fans will be in the home section as The Archers says, The database is strict and if any plastic Chelsea fans get in via a silly and rare saints fan giving it to them then they would have to keep quiet or be shouted down and kicked out!! Should be a good atmosphere as usual but there isnt so much interest as the league games!

Well its got all the makings for a very interesting afternoon if SFC have allowed pockets of Chelsea fans to integrate with us.

Do hope condescending tomw19's cousin thought it was a good idea to get a seat in Itchen/Kingsland North <whistle>

Seriously though, I can see a local plastic registering on database easily enough. But if Bucks Blues claims that Chelsea fans who I assume live outside the area have done likewise this is unpecedented for such a high profile fixture.

Little pockets of Millwall fans were scattered all round St Mary's when we played them in the cup 10 years ago. When Steve Claridge scored they jumped up all over the place. The stewards must have taken note, cos none of them came back to their seats after half time.

No mate. Walked past it the other day, it's all boarded up and delapidated, sadly. The devil in me thought it would be fun to direct visiting supporters down there :emoticon-0105-wink:

Pity - used to be good dive. A few of my old haunts have gone - the Southerner, the Centre, Bay Leaf, the Eagle, the Pier, Top Rank.........
