Certainly don't have to spend stupid money - FC is out of contract ithe summer and Sunderland haven't sought fit to stitch him up with a new deal. This would suggest they don't want to keep him and figures of £1.5m have been subsequently bandied about. More a question on whether or not he wants to drop to the NPC - answer no.

    Don't need a CB ffs.

A Meyler type player (grafter/talker/leader in the Ash mould) would be a great asset.

Stockdale and Brady to be signed on season long loans at the very least.

Thing is the Mackems are now playing Campbell.

Would he want to drop down a level if he's getting back into the squad with a manager that wants him to stay?

I think if Steve Bruce wants someone , the Allams Will back him be it 1 million or 7 million ... With the amount of money promotion would bring it's More important to the Allams we go up , then it is to the Supporters .

I expect them to sign 1 if not 2 attacking option next month and he'll drop back out again. I certainly cant see them loaning him though, how would that benefit Sunlan with a player out of contract in the summer?

On the basis of Pappa Allams recent ramblings on the 10th anniversary of the opening of the KC, that he had no more money to spend (just posturing I know)

Seeing as the Allams have spent £60m of their ever increasing fortune on the Club, I can't see them spending a further £7m in this over expensive transfer window - a Chris Woods for circa £1.75m would do for me.

Yeah cos they don't desperately want us to get in the premier league and are quite happy to have invested 60m and stay in the championship so your logic seems sound!

As far as FC is concerned, he need to take stock of his situation. At Sunderland who are a bottom half team , he cannot even get a regular place in the team. He needs to build his stock value up again by playing, so to drop down to the Championship, to a club that has a good chance of being promoted, is in my opinion would not a bad option for him.

i think we need to make sure we dont start giving into any players demands, all the premiership clubs can blow us out of the water in terms of wages. We shouldnt go chasing them offering 25 30 grand a week.

we shouldn't pay any player £30k a week, we've learnt from Bullard surely > Danny Graham on loan from Swansea for me or Steve Morison from Norwich but unlikely that one

The only way the Allams will EVER get there money back is for Hull City to get to the premier league ..

Spending even 10million to achieve that would be a wise move IF needed.

That's why I think they will back Steve Bruce in January .

Not that I think we need to spend that much... 2 strikers and a goalkeeper maybe ?

Off topic but do we get a different shirt sponsor next season ?

WBA fans laughing and WBA laughing all the way to the bank. £2m(incl add ons) plus wages for a player they dont rate. Interesting. Will Wood be the Foxes new Beckford ? Will Wood reach the heights of his Millwall days ? twt.

Not long to wait now to see what Steve Bruce has up his sleeves other than his arms of course.

Beckford always seemed to think he was better than he was. Wood seems like a well grounded young lad.

Wood is a great buy for £1M - Very risky for £2M especially on a 3 year contract as he is obviously not thought of as good enough for the Premiership - maybe Leicester are thinking long term and Championship survival is their goal for 3 years?

Well Lesta did waste £1m on Vardy in the summer. They have history when it comes to over spending.

Steve Bruce said live on the radio that any NEW signings in jan WOULD HAVE TO SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVE US.!!!
