He won't go unless Levy let's him, like he did with Modric,Bale has said he's happy at Spurs, his Girlfriend has just had a child, does that give you any clues why i mentioned Wilshire, both in the same boat, except Real don't want Wilshire, Yet. as for thick pot, kettle and black come to mind
If Bale were to leave Spurs for Arsenal it would make him quite a mercenary as he couldn't say he left to win things then.
He'll leave eventually but it won't be soon IMO. Spurs don't need to sell so the ball is in their court. If he did go there's no way Spurs would sell to another PL club
No he wouldn't. Sol Campbell was prepared to take the risk as Arsenal were a top side competing on all fronts. Most Spurs fans would begrudgingly accept Arsenal were light years ahead of them then and could win things they could only dream of but time has changed. There is little if anything in it and don't think Bale (with a young child) would be prepared to take the risk to move to Arsenal now. I genuinely do think Bale is happy at Spurs and when he does move it'll be like Ronaldo at Madrid where it's just for the challenge. All Arsenal have over Spurs now is the stadium, higher wage bill and CL football
Wilshere grew up as an Arsenal fan and came through our academy. Bale grew up supporting Cardiff City and came through Southamptons academy. There's a big difference.
He didn't, he grew up a Spammer by his own admission. Sol Campbell came through Spurs academy and grew up a Tottenham fan, look where he ended up? Ashley Cole the exact same with Arsenal, Rooney with Everton. The list is endless. There is no difference between Wilshere and Bale apart from the fact one has been at the club longer than the other.
What's not been mentioned here is that Bale by his own admission has said that he wants to play Champions League football and would seek a move if Spurs can't provide it. I think his words were along the lines of 'once you've had a taste . . . ' Much like Modric, who's talent was clearly above the level that was around him at Spurs, Bale wants to play at the top level. Arsenal could offer him that, but I don't think there's any way that he'd sign for us and I don't think Spurs would sell him to us either, also I don't think we'd pay what Spurs would want for him. Personally, I think he'll end up at Utd and Levy will get top money for him - around £35m
Sorry Gents, but reading this thread I feel compelled to comment. The idea of a players signature on a new contract being a deterrent against a transfer is laughable, contract are there only for the players benefit these days. I'm sure I read earlier that the Russians have offered Barca the £205m buy out clause for Messi ??? Of course Barca will reject and even if they accepted Messi would refuse to leave, but I think it's a little niaive for anyone to think that because he's just signed a contract he's untouchable. I'm sure there are occasions where players coming to the end of their contracts enter into agreements where they sign new contracts with a committment from the club to sell at a specific time or if a figure is offered. Bale's case is different to Jacks, Bale has had one (spectacular be honest) champions lge season, he will be hungry for more and keeps putting himself in the shop window with displays like yesterdays, I'm sure Tottenham won't want to sell but a desperate Manchester or Spanish club offering £50m will be difficult for the club to reject. Jack has been part of the club since he was 9 years old, it's in his blood, Arsenal are also champions lge regulars (not that that guarantees any future participation) so Arsenal are providing all the challenges he needs with the exception of trophies, he's playing in the biggest stadiums in the biggest competitions. That said, the players are owned by their clubs and they dictate the players future. Money talks, both Arsenal and Tottenham fans alike already know that...
Levy was offered £40m for Little Lucy, he held out for more . . and got £30m Maybe he will cash in on bale in the summer if a £30m + offer comes in ?
In the current climate Bale is worth plenty more than £30m for me. Be honest, you'd love him in an Arsenal shirt....
Of course I would, he's a quality player. But he'll never sign for Arsenal unless there was some kind of Planetary magnetic shift. Whilst that's unlikely, I do think he'll move if Spurs don't get Champions league football this season.
I think he'll give AVB another year, if Tottenham don't make CL this or next season then I can see Bale wanting a move (in Summer 2014) but he does strike me as a decent fella who loves the club, the question is for how long can he ignore the riches on offer in the game these days ? I don't have sympathy for anyone earning £75k a week or whatever he's on, but knowing there are half a dozen clubs out there who will treble his wages overnight must play on his mind....
Spurs were offered £30m and Alex (who chelsea didn't want and then claimed he (Alex) was worth £10m)... We got £30 12 months later and no Alex...and some kind of deal with inter re future co-operation....so in short we lost Alex...hardly the flop deal you imply
5 Year Deal, Been with the club since age 9, No Agent, "I will stay at Arsenal forever" Yeah I think he will. Plus that won't happen
I thought the point of the new stadium was to raise our income so that, amongst other things, we could keep our best players at the club. If we sold our best player to achieve that we'd be shooting ourselves in the foot, especially since he's so marketable in the UK, in particular. Basically, it's not logical selling your best player and most profitable product to help fund a stadium that will need to have a high standard of football played in it to truly work. It's a nice theory but realistically the only reason Bale will be going anywhere is because he wants to leave and if he does Levy won't be letting him go to fund a project that won't even start paying back money for several years.
