I am a level 1 goalkeeping coach, and the first thing i was taught keepers should do on crosses is IF they cant catch the ball is to punch it clear...Rob Green is clearly trying to scoup the ball backwards over his head, and over his crossbar?

he should have screamed, "KEEPERS!" and punched it clear...It is a definite foul though....

Unfortunetly ranger 74 there are some on here who just look to slag a player off and nothing will change their mind, they just look for one thing to have a go at said player, they forget his save from lakuka later in the game that does'nt matter cause in their eyes green is a bad keeper and they will continue to slate him no matter what he does.!!!!!

It goes bad to the worse as i noticed how some of our fans are eager to judge green more than that "wooden eye" referee foy. Theres havent been many matches this season where i could have blame ref for our defeat. Normally our defeats are just result of a very bad performance by our team. Yesterday our performance was not good either, however foy helped wba to win that match. Firstly their second goal was absolutely ridicolous and a proper ref would have been judged that 9999 times out of 10000 for a free kick. The "penalty shout" was another horribly mistake by the referees. The match should ended 1-1 or even 2-1 to us (depends of the possibly penalty kick). Robert Green is never going to be a rangers legend and can't be totally satisfyed about his performance yesterday too. In their first goal he paralyzed on the line and in that second one he was maybe too naive as he expected referee to act as he should have been. His laughing afterwards was more like sarcastic "i just **ckin cant believe it" laugh.

Lets clear this up as we have some really daft sods on here:

It was a simple tap over you see them every week in the premiership.

Green's eyes rightly were on the ball and he jumps to do so.

Just as he went to tip the ball over with his feet and weight off the ground contact is made by the WBA player who knows exactly what he is doing.

Greens body is forced backwards he loses height and the tip over becomes a flap.

LOOK the evidence is there HOW people can then say he should of charged out and punched etc are daft. To green this was a simple tip over and he was clearly fouled.

The goal should not of stood BUT it did so move the **** on . I have a Senior Cup medal for winning , both our goals were either offside or handball ... move on

How people can say Cesar would of done this or that can never be proven ... we lost and was served a bit of rough justice.

The current crop of QPR fans who slag off any player aren't worth a w**k IMO ... I see also that Mackie as predicted has come under fire from some

    Stop arguing. You're all right:
    1. Green's attempt to deal with the situation was lightweight and pathetic
    2. It was a clear foul by any modern standard and Shearer should hang his head in shame for his comments
    3. The referee was poorly positioned to see what actually happened. The linesman had a clear view however
    4. Generally Green is a liability regardless of this incident.

Cerny I'll defend any of our players I see giving everything. But this Robert Green has been a ineffectual ****ing liability ever since he arrived. The goal was given cos instead of fighting for the ball, he fannied about going behind the line looking for a foul. More I see it, more it pisses me off. Hope we can sell him in January , he'll never be QPR.

Agree with all of that. Unfortunately its history now. The sort of history that relegates teams. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Dermot Gallagher said this on SSN this morning... " Chris Foy is a very good friend of mine, but even I can't defend him on those two decisions. The first was a clear foul on the keeper and the second was a definite penalty. "

Yeah I heard that 9s , but I'm in the camp that think keepers get overprotected, so putting my bias aside, I agreed with most of what Shearer said.
Green was pathetic, and I reckon Redknapp in private will be of that opinion as well<ok>

Same here, it was a foul in todays climate but Greens granny would have made a stronger effort than he did.

Thats why Im angry with him as it shouldnt be a foul as the player just took a good position after Green inexplicably went a yard inside his own goal, if he held his ground the player would have had to foul him to get under the ball.

I think that the keepers get overprotected by referees too, but the thing that happened yesterday was bit too much. Northolt its refreshing that somebody dont see things always through the blue and white specs. Still i dont understand how somebody cant see a foul in that situation , even if green acted like a girl. Perhaps there is always have to be a opinion and then again the counter-opinion to it.

I have to disagree with you bully boy. Green acted like girl in that situation ,but the foul was there as it is stated nowadays. Imo game should be played by the rule. Now after that episode no striker could even touch the keepers without freekick.....

If Green had made a positive move to punch the ball, perhaps raising his knee into the back of Fortune's thigh/buttock the ball wouldn't have gone in and Fortune would have got what he deserved. It was a foul but it was a 'passive' effort to save it and has to go down as poor decision making...

Clearly was a foul and nothing else. I do not rate Green to be a decent goalie but this time it was not his fault - same with the 1st goal which came out of the blue. Some people here should stop picking on Green and rather concentrate on the remaining games - we are still in the PL and can stay in there.

after watching it a number of times i think actually fortune overhassles the guy. still you take what you are given, god knows we've had our fair share of bad luck. arsenal away we were completely robbed with 2 penalties that should not have been given. now we have had 2 goals in 2 games that are questionable. with regards to the penalty, still a stonewaller for me, but we had a shout a little earlier, the ball hit your defenders hand in our area, whilst maybe not as stonewall it couldve been given on another day?

Igor, I'm a former keeper and if that had been me and the goal had been given I would have hounded the officials instead of laughing.
