I became an accountant to avoid being a mechanic :) As a kid watching my dad laying underneath his car on freezing cold ground with oil dripping in his face and shearing his knuckles trying to get nuts and bolts loose told me I watned to earn enough to pay someone else to do that for me

Out here because its so difficult to get a tradesman and so expensive if you do find one , Most Noggys do most things themselves! car maintenance , House maintenance such as plumbing etc You have to give it a go yourself!! I have learnt a lot the last few years!
In the UK I would have done some OT and then paid a tradesman, not here!

No accountants in our family...all welders, sheep rustlers, con artists and wine samplers with the occasional vicar, teacher and architect thrown in <laugh>

I have an ancestor who was hung for passing a forged 10/- note. He along with a fellow crook were sent to the gallows in Cambridge. A third felon had some money that he used to get himself deported to Oz.

My dad and his brothers were all police marksmen.
