Thats like 4 classics in a row. Now can Pirreli/KERS/DRS spice up one of the most boring races on the Calander? Barcelona has had a few critisisms of late as to why its on the calandar when every driver knows the track to well and it usually leads to a procession. Lets hope it can add the spice. Race Times: Circuit de Catalunya, 20-22 May Friday 20 May: Practice one - 0900-1030; Practice two - 1300-1430 Saturday 21 May: Practice three - 1000-1100; Qualifying: 1300-1400 Sunday 22 May: Race - 1300 (BBC Times) El_Bando,
DRS should work well here, just like it did in Australia. Thanks for the times. I have a gap in my exams from the 19th onwards. How convenient!
Just read this: Vettel was reportedly banned from drinking champagne on the podium as he celebrated winning on Sunday. The 23-year-old championship leader was told he must resist drinking the champagne because Turkey's new alcohol age limit is 24 -ESPN Im pretty sure he did though... tut tut
I say ban him, take away his super license. However I am only saying this as it seems the only way of stopping him while the Red Bull is so dominant.
I don't think you should sticky swap for the next race until at least a few days after the current one. Did that make sense? Just some indestructable feedback old boy x
Yep! Much better I reckon unless the next GP is the next weekend, maybe shorten it to Monday? This is getting complicated...
Well I'd be happy with a fresh Chat on Tuesdays. Monday is for 'I told you so' etc. AND our conspiracy theories.
I told you so! See, now thats out of the way lets talk Spain. Did I read that Lotus are bringing a major update to Spain in the form of a blown diffuser. Could they make Q2 on merit? Can McLaren and Ferrari close in on Red Bull, they all have some minor upgrades coming up.
Should be a better race for Mercedes when they have improved race pace, and a reset for Michael after a devastating race in Turkey. The only way is upwards.
I think I posted about this on the Turkey thread, Kovalainen reckons they will gain a second a lap in performance, its supposed to be a big upgrade to the rear end, so it could be a blown diffuser. Or maybe they've incorporated the Renault/Red Bull KERS unit?
Big DRS zone so should be overtaking there. KERS should allow some overtaking on back straight also. How easy is this circuit on the tyres?
I can see Lotus doing it at the expense of Toro Rosso if they don't wake up asap. Buemi is getting point finishes but Alguersuari is imo officially in trouble, outqualified (4 out of 4?) and outperformed on the race as well (3 or 4 out of 4???). He openly acknowledges he cannot feel the car; yet Buemni is not that far ahead on qualifying so if Lotus moves up a gear they could be an easy/feasible gain. As for the front, RB to win. If only because Ferrari already struggle on winter testing there
Just a thought to the people affected by The quakes in Lorca, Spain... My condolences go out to the families who lost one of the 10 people who were tragically killed by the quake. On a brighter note... I never knew there was a place called Lorca.... and now knowing this probably explains Jose Lorcas name. Just guessing... Jose is maybe his first name and Lorca might be where he lives/ where he was born. And also the fact that he supports Fernando Alonso who is a Spainsh driver mixes it all in. But who am I to post guessing statements.. Only Jose will tell you and even then he might not want to tell you.
I have it on good authority that Mercedes might be bringing Renault style exhausts to Spain. This will include a new position for the radiators. Yeah, my condolences go out to the unfortunate victims and their families. Ha, good guess but the name Jose Lorca has absolutely no significance to my life. My ethnicity isn't even Spanish, although I do seem to support the Spanish in a variety of sports. I chose the name "Jose" as it was a common spanish name and "Lorca" because at the time I was reading a book by Federico Garcia Lorca. The whole idea of having a name on 606 proved to be more successful than something like "Fernando Best F1 Driver".
These two sentences do not sit well together. Perhaps under the circumstances, a photo might have been more (or less) appropriate?…
