How the **** did Shelvey last 90 mins? Don't get me wrong he's young and may well be a good player in years to come but he was awful tonight as were others but he stood out as very bad. Why was Suso taken off he was playing well? I just don't understand so much about the game tonight.
I thought Gerrard and Suarez were the only players who looked threatening for us, Suarez although ran with the ball to often, was always twisting and turning and making space, Gerrard used the ball well and always looked forward. Enrique was good defensively but wasn't himself going forward, we pretty much lost the midfield battle, really. Don't get me wrong mate I didn't think they were spectacular, just the best of a bad bunch.
I thought the passing between the back 4 and your keeper was good though the way you kept passing the ball around your own 18 yard box, Stoke couldn't live with you.
If we continue on this form all season I would consider it going backwards and he should go, I cant accept going backwards from LAST SEASSON. FFS
To be honest i think Luiz Suarez is too good for us and having him in our team just doesn't look right. If our ambitions are as much as Sturridge or Allen we might as well stick to it. Suarez would obviously want to leave and he should. He is surrounded by players that are absolute garbage, to an unthinkable entent, but to be honest it's a bit harsh on him. I mean Joe Cole keeps getting into the team,so one should understand our standards. But it's obviously agonizing to see us go down at such a rate. Oh and post match our clueless manager obviously is going to throw in his usual cliches 'outstanding, terrific, possesion'........'chances'
They were the only two that looked like they might get a goal but I wouldn't say either played well. Neither were particularly close to scoring bar the penalty. I think they both suffered from the teams performance as well though, far too many not playing well enough. I agree with Luv too... ...how the hell did Shelvey manage to play ninety minutes...? Rodgers really rates his finishing, Jonjo must score bucket loads in training
I can see why everyone says they respect Stoke and Tony Pulis due to the way they've continued to get points despite using a playing method that they have got a lot of stick for. However, and note this isn't me being bitter because we lost, I don't respect them at all. I don't see how anyone can respect a manager that tells his team to go out there and play anti-football, this isn't what the great british game was founded on and quite frankly I'd be embarrassed to see them play any continental side. People argue there isn't a wrong and right way to play football, but I'm sorry... there is. If it's played correctly (and enforced correctly, yes officials I'm looking at you) then it's great to watch and can keep you on the edge of your seat. I've never watched a Stoke game that was great game of football. It really bugs me that Stoke get all this credit from pundits and fans alike, but teams that play properly don't get anywhere near the praise.
You're getting rather boring now. I don't like our board being cluttered with boring posts, or boring people.

Totally out of order to attack Stoke! They were better than you and fully deserved to win! Where was the anti-football? Have you been watching a different game to most of us? The fault is with your team. You can't always play against a spineless young team like Villa. Oops wait a minute...
Only because you're wishing for a Liverpool loss. Fantastic games, for me, are when both teams play well. We were ****e and never got out of first gear. Stoke were better and maybe hovered around third, but deserved their win. BR will be under pressure soon. After we get Sturridge and Ince, he has his goal scoring forward players; he'll have no more excuses. I have no clue why he took Lucas off or Suso, or why he kept Shelvey on the pitch so long when it was clear he wasn't playing well. BR's decision making is very hit and miss...especially with team choices and subs
It's not totally out of order at all, they are a physical team that use that physicality to complete negate any good football on the pitch. Where was the anti-football? The 11 fouls to our 5 is a good place to start I suppose. The fault is with us that we couldn't find a way to beat a team like Stoke, it's not our fault it was a terrible game of football.
In the 70's and 80's I use to wish for a Liverpool loss but now I don't even have to wish, Liverpool aren't good enough for me to waste a wish on.
