http://www.101greatgoals.com/gvideos/gif-rob-green-scores-a-shocking-own-goal-qpr-v-west-brom/ WTF! ****ing fuming at this! Foul or no foul Green should have punched it away.
If Green had gone down, or moved to let the player fall into the net, this could have all been avoided. Seeing this time and time again, despite the foul, Green is seeking to flip this over the bar and takes a shove as he attempts this. Refs give this type of hustle all the time. Don't mind losing to a classy bit of play. Hang your heads in shame Baggies fans. No glory in this goal.
Wait wait wait......... if that had been Champions league football with huge stakes, they would've called it as offensive interference!
No mate, they don't he was leaning against Green and even uses his hands. Clear foul. The ref will know it when he looks at the tape. But it'll be too late
It was a foul so look to the ref, but Green doesn't come out of it smelling of roses either. Most keepers would have used their strength to do better, or make sure the ref had no alternative but to give the foul
That would be a penalty to them, great idea!! He was fouled pure and simple, why people criticise him for that is frankly embarrassing!
Most definitely this - how on earth did the officials not give a foul? For those who said that he should have punched clear look at the lack of purchase that Green would have to punch the ball as he's under pressure I'm not one for officials over-protecting keepers but this is laughable. Only Alan Shearer would claim this to be fair!
Totally agree and a lot of psoters said Green earned his place with his good goalkeeping and all of a sudden he's **** again. Or was it on another board? I'm not sure anymore
Exactly, as he goes to jump for a simple tip over he is fouled and knocked to the ground. I'd defy anybody to stand their ground from in mid air!!!
This image here shows him leaning back with all his weight and his hands wrapped around as well - most people would find it hard to jump up and over the idiot when you're being pressed down. Clear FOUL, Green not at fault, he couldn't reach the ball properly as he was being impeded. Green is looking at the ball, just trying to get to it without doing anything malicious against the striker they get a goal out of it! Ridiculous.
To be honest i couldn't see the penalty shout from where i sit in the paddock mate, so can't really comment but HR seemed pretty incensed in his interview i heard on the way home so you could very well be right. Seems luck is not on our side this year
He actually starts to be pushed before he jumps. A foul for sure. But was it sensible for Green to try and jump and hook it over the bar when he knew he had someone backing into him? Agree, a split second decision. But I'd say he could have muscled his way into a better position to receive the ball and still been a long way from giving away a penalty.
Mate look at the WBA player diggin under Green. Basic physics. He got his legs in front of him to give him leverage and got down to give him lower center of gravity.
