right, back in jan we were 6th, any maybe getting a wee bit carried away and talking about the E word. whilst it would be good for the club, what about supporters? by this i mean do you reckon safc would have a big following in europe, i.e a thursday night in st. petersburg. we know the lads have a good away support, but how many of you would truthfully travel to the above game, would it be thousands and sell out our allocation? i expect an away trip to france or holland would do much better, so what would be your limit as to how long or far you would go.... just curious....
If I can link it up with a spot of business then anything is possible to me.........Thursday night in St Petersburg would be a good one to tell the grand kids about............
I think it would be more likely for students and retired people to go, rather than people who have jobs. But I probably wouldn't have the money!
I can't imagine many mackem's going. To be honest, I can't imagine many mags going either if we got into Europe. Money is especially tight for people up here in the North East. It's the north/south divide again.
I pulled a lot of strokes to get to Budapest in 73 I might make them all in season 1 in europe, but if we went a long way in the comp I would be skint in year 2
see this is exactly what i was thinking about, we all want it, but once we get it, what happens then, not a lot are going to be able to aff ord a trip away for a thurs, then an away game on a sun...
p.s. I've got a 100% record in europe. Sore them all 3 wins 1 defeat. 75% win rate in europe, even Man u cant match that record lol
start saving mate........remember you have atleast a good 18 months.............lets face it you're not exactly going to be spending a lot on petrol are you............ not going to mention that all students are supposed to be broke.................
Would love it. especially as my girlfreinds family lives only 3 hours away from St petersburg. Might actually be going in the summer.
Yes, especially for Jersey students as we don't even get student loans, it's about 15,000-20,000 per year depending on where and how you live!
We have a few, but that's just because the population's only about 90,000. There are people like Bob Murray, Derek Warwick and Nigel Mansell here, but the prices are all higher over here, we don't have anywhere like Tesco.
If there's only a small population, you shouldn't find it too hard to find a loaded sugar mummy, then!!!
its got nothing to do with charity Jersey, I'm sure there are many on the island who would pay handsomely to kick your back door in...............
I think you'd be surprised. Joking aside the stadium attendances would bare little reflection on the European attendances as you lot have got a good hardcore following and I'm sure there'd be plenty of mackems willing to go the extra mile (or 1000 miles) for something you've waited so long for.
iv'e no idea of how big the support has been for the english teams that have competed in europe this season (the europa league only) iv'e just done another thread europe 2 to try and figure it out, but like you say a hardcore will always travel after waiting so long.. if they can afford it they will go..
