  2. Sorry, but you don't have to look beyond the first two listed... Van Persie ahead of Yaya Toure is an absolutely joke! <doh>

Indeed. It'd be Toure , Suarez, Aguero, Van Persie, and then Silva imo

Edit : also no Downing <doh>

Toure is over rated. Goes missing in so many games, misplaces passes and not always positionally great...he's propped up by scoring the odd goal or making 1 good lung busting run down the middle whilst Barry does the dirty work.

Van Persie is streets ahead of him.
Suarez would be in the top 20 if he was more consistant in performance.

Vidic & Evra being in the list is a joke.

Vidic has played about 12 seconds of football in the last 2 years <yikes>

I disagree with Toure being the best or second best player in the premier league aswell. He is a very good player on his day but he is very inconsistent and often goes missing for periods in games. For example he makes one lung bursting 50 yard run then he goes missing for a bit after that.

My premier league top 5 would be:

Aguero, Van Persie, Kompany, Suarez & Ashley Cole.

Some of the placings are a real joke though. Modric was one of the worlds best midfielders when he was at Spurs, now that he's gone to Madrid he's not as good as the likes of Oscar, Eriksen, Fellaini, David Luiz & Patrice Evra?

Didier Drogba on the list after 5 league goals last season? Ahead of people like Di Natale, Diego Milito and Lewandowski who scored 20+ last season?

Nah not for me. ****e list. Especially when a lot on that list like Hamsik, Terry, Evra, Oscar, David Luiz, Forlan, Nasri, Vidic etc are there on reputation alone.

Its disgustingly biased towards Bayern Munich... 8 Bayern players in there.

9 Barca players, which is rather predictable.

But.... Emmanuel Mayuka who plays for Southampton. I've never even heard of him and he's better than Hamsik, Javi Martinez, Pepe, Sneijder, Kagawa, Ben Arfa, Nasri, Pastore and John Terry.

    10) Cavani is great but overrated. he is not better than our top players. Suarez is favored in Uruguay for example
    14) Sergio Busquets... This is debatable, there are better DMs.
    15) Thiago Silva.... Not as good as the other Silva. Again he is a good player but he is overrated in this survey.

The rest of the top 20 are reasonable calls i guess.

    26) Willian.... ???? Probably me being ignorant, but who?
    27) Marco Reus... NAAAAAH
    37) Oscar... Not quite yet, in a few years. Also why is he higher than Hazard?
    41) Zanetti..... I will stop now.

Agree with all apart from Busquets, antics aside he's one of the most underrated players in the world, he's a class DM.

I may be alone, but I honestly don't rate Aguero that highly. Sure, he had a great debut against Swansea, but I feel he has no impact on the majority of games he plays. Sometimes he'll score a tap in having done nothing all game, and he needs someone clever (Tevez, Silva) alongside him to be at his best. If we swapped Suarez for him directly, I think we'd be worse off as a team. I'd still put him top 15 in the PL, but not in the world.

Rolls-Reus is a class player, he'd be a brilliant signing for any top club, Dortmund were bang on the money to replace Kagawa with him.

Not quite sure 2 good games against Chelsea makes you the 26th best player in the world though.

I look at the wide players who play in the same position as him that are not as high as him on the list, and I think who the hell would choose Willian over any of these players??

Ribery, Robben, Gotze, Juan Mata, Marco Reus, Thomas Muller, Gareth Bale, Angel Di Maria, Eden Hazard, Pedro, Santi Cazorla etc etc. Is Willian better than any of those players? The fact of the matter is, he really isn't. I liked what I saw of him & his team in the CL this season but he really is not in the same class, yet, as most of the wingers behind him in the list.

I think 10 posters off the Liverpool board could make a better list than this one.

By the way, I do know you were just explaining who Willian was, rather than trying to justify his position in the list!!

    ****ing horseshit man.

Toure like everyone at City has been rubbish this season. Silva shouldnt even be on the list and considering most footballers would consider Rooney in their top 20 the Guardian is again showing why its consider a pile of **** <ok>

I dont rate Aguero or Silva as I dont base my opinions on players from what they did 12 months or more ago. Borth players have been dire for a long time and Aguero isnt papering over the cracks by scoring goals either. Silva is just a completely pointless player atm.

Him and Tevez up front is a great pairing.
