Just thought I'd see what you think is the worst decision made by the club in 2012. There are plenty to choose from but I'd say the sale of HH was pretty dumb in light of our lack of striker options and we've sorely missed his ability to bring others into the game as well as his goals...
signing johnson, zamora two injury prone players & thats exactly whats happened, boswinga/park not needed, could run throught the whole team except nelson who's been outstanding.
Yeah, with the benefit of hindsight it has to be recruiting Hughes. I can't recall who was also available at the time, but we cannot have fared any worse under someone else, and that includes Warnock.
have to say not many were against MH at the end of last season, its only this season that many rightly turned on him, including me. worst decision i thought you meant ref wise - so hills goal v bolton not being given! but in terms of decision by the club/manager have to say the general transfer policy from the summer is coming back to bite us big time.
Decision to overhaul the squad this summer instead of adding 3/4 quality players. Green, Dawson, Nelson, M'Bia + Striker would have been just fine had we renewed the likes of HH and Akos.
Yes, hiring Hughes but there is a fair bit of hindsight needed here. I don't think even the hardened Hughes knockers realised quite what a mess he'd make of the summer signings, and tactical ineptitude and failure of man-management in the new season. HH's sale didn't need hindsight. There has to be a good reason for selling your top scorer and it was bleedin' obvious to all but Hughes there wasn't one.
Believing Mark Hughes when he said 'never again' would we be in a relegation scrap Though, come to think of it, he did say 'while he was manager' so he was technically correct!
I saw Keith curle in tesco on Saturday night. He reckons we'll stay up Worst decision of '12? Tony giving Hughes the benefit of the doubt for the reading & soton games. I think Arry would have won those
