Read his post again. He is not talking about the top teams in the league. He is talking about the bottom teams.

That has always been the case in Spain, the lower teams have not performed as well as their top 2. The epl does a better job of spreading out the money than some of the other European leagues.

So with Huntelaar close to agreeing a new deal with Schalke, Ba looks like being our main choice. For that price (£7 Mil) we can't go wrong. Strong,Mobile and has shown that he can finish.

Again, its the salaries not the transfer fees that are the problem these days. We should really start focusing on them when considering a player. The only issues I see with Ba are his injury record and his desire to play in the middle not on the flank.

He played 32 league games last season, and has played in 16 this season. Hopefully those problems are behind him.

we should definitely get him, i have always thought he has great potential.

He is everything that gerv is not.

Powerful , strong , determined and hungry to score.

    He gives defenders the sh1ts.

    get him bought Arsene.

Actually Gerv IS most of those things. He's very athletic and a nightmare to play against because he will go past you. He just has NO end product and NO composure.

To me Ba is a poor mans Adebayor - he's also petulant and unlikeable. IMO

Nah, Ba is more direct and more hard working. He's a better version of Adebayor. Ever since Ba went to West Ham he was banging in goals. He's hitting his peak (27 years old) and would be a steal at 7 million. I'm not sure we'd even need to offer him a huge amount, he seems to love the idea of playing for Arsenal.

<laugh><laugh> Gervinho is ridiculously easy to play against. Just hold your position, and he'll just run the ball out of play. You don't even have to chase him (in the off chance he stumbles past you) as he'll toepoke the ball into row z.

If he could toe poke like that when he's 3 yards out, in the middle of the goal, with no goalkeeper... it would be an improvement. At least the opposition players would stop face-palming then.

Gervinho needs to find some composure to improve on his final ball and his finishing, but people were saying the same things about Walcott not so long ago. I know Gervinho is older, but if he can find it, then he will be a very useful player. I think it's more to do with form that ability. I don't buy into the claims that he's ****.

Composure, final ball and his finishing? You really think that's his only issues?
The problems lie far deeper than that.

The guy just can't play football. And it's not like he's 18 or anything. He's 25.

Little, to no ball control (poor touch), pathetic vision, intelligence & creativity.
Even his dribbling looks somewhat fortuitous whenever he goes past somebody.

Apart from speed he has nothing going for him. You need to open your eyes and stop living in a dream world. If this guy played for Spurs, you'd be laughing at them week in, week out.
Worst attacking player I've ever seen at Arsenal.

    Don't want him.

Newcastle make their strikers look better than they are, especially when they're big strong guys like Ba. Remember Carroll?

Yes, Ba's no improvement on Giroud.

I would take Llorente over Ba any day of the week.

He'll score a few goals and then you'll crawl under the nearest stone for a while <ok>

    Great response. <applause>

Unlike people like you, I don't look at goals or a few stats that paper over the cracks. I saw through the hype in his first 3 games for us.
A player is either good, rubbish or in between the two. A few tap ins won't change that fact.

As I said previously, you live in a dream world.

Never mind the hype . (what hype anyway )

I have never seen him do anything to make me change my opinion that he is mediocre.

    Hes "striker lite ".

    not quite the real thing.

cant see why people still have faith in him " coming good. "

We cant wait round for players to "come good "
The games keep coming every week .

    we need the points .

    Now .

I know it's only one game, but I lost all faith in Gervinho after the Bradford game. From that shocking miss to his shocking all round play, he was utterly terrible. He also hid as the game went on and never ever came for the ball. Also, as an attacking player he was meant to step up and take a penalty, but he did not even have the guts for it. Let a defender go ahead of him. Terrible.
