Im saying that acts SUCH AS giving a shirt to a kid at the end of a game is an example of how a player builds a relationship with the fans. If Ferdinand didn't care about the fans or the club he wouldn't do it. Simple as. Im not saying that it makes him a good player, far from it. What I want to see from a player when I go to Loftus Road, as cliched as it sounds, is passion and effort. When Ferdinand plays he runs to both corners of the loft and claps the fans. If a player simply played for himself he wouldnt bother with this. He makes a conscious effort with the fans and has said numerous times that he owes the club a lot for how they supported him during the whole Terry affair. No matter how **** you think he is he doesnt deserve to be lobbed in with Barton and co.
This boy is a liability. No; not Sir Les, but young Anton. It seems that as SWP has been so very very poor, and of course the whole terry incident, he has somehow slipped under the radar of criticism. I cite his absolute howlers against spurs as a prime example. Now, he was sort of ok today, but let's face it- I bet most of us here agree that he is simply not up to scratch & I am getting more and more annoyed at his expression of indignation ( ie, it wasn't my fault ) when yet another sloppy goal is conceded.... Rant overt See my previous post!
He's done more damage to this Club (albeit indirectly) than even that scumbag Barton did. I hope that kid gets something better from Santy than his smelly shirt.
I am not for one minute criticising Ferdinand for his lack of effort, but he is simply not good enough and is a liability. He is our worst defender imo by a long way. He may try hard but when he keeps making errors you can see the other players have no confidence in him.
Way too much slagging off of players for not trying on here. Anton isn't good enough for the PL, but he always gives his best. He did all right Saturday as well - he contributed to a solid defensive performance that kept Newcastle at bay for most of the game, quite an achievement when we were unable to hold the ball further forward.
Ozzie, I believe you to be a man of principle so I expect you to have a go at Redknapp for so doing so as well.
