I'll take the points but can't help but feel we're about due to give somebody a pasting. Will it be city?
Roll on Boxing Day and three more points. Can't really see Bristol stopping us - Brighton may be a different kettle of fish but. who knows - confidence is rising & FF will be back. Then start the New Year with a win against Charlton - the perfect lead up to the Man City game.
Decent win - very good 1st half and we did ease off quite a bit 2nd half which Zola was disappointed with himself.
Listening to 606 Forest fans saying they were really poor. Have we got another one of those 'the opposition were poor when Watford win' or were we just better today?
You want to try being a Hull City fan. Every time we win it's because of luck (14 times!), our opponents were always 'brilliant', and we were always 'the worst team to have played them this season'...
Another win, and great to see the attendance has picked up. Disgusting weather, weekend before Christmas, too. Is the Zola magic starting to work? Is there a buzz? What's it like in the ground these days?
Excellent first half with both teams looking sharp at times. Chalobah was terrific, turning away instantly from his marker with the ball and delivering some lovely passes. Cassetti was as good as I've seen him, whipping in dangerous crosses...though he was given a lot of space at times. Vydra used his pace well and made excellent runs, giving the midfielders an inviting target and his finishing is as good as anyone in the side. Ekstrand is beginning to look more assured and for me was the pick of a still occasionally shaky defence today. Fitz is a good organiser but he can look slow and cumbersome at times. Abdi was neat and found some quick, incisive passes. Hogg was busy but if he is going to continue to get into good attacking positions needs to work on his shooting...it's woeful. The sending off, about which the ref had little choice, in some respects spoiled the game. The second goal, beautifully worked, went in almost before Forest had sorted themselves out and in the second half Watford were often content to use the numerical advantage to shift the ball around in their own half. So, while I'm delighted with the three points the second half was a disappointment. One for the Forest fans, why wasn't Guedioura on fro the start? He looked a class above anyone else out there today.
That sums up the game, they came with the plan to hack down any player who looked like breaking or getting close to scoring. He just ran where Ayala would have been, it was a good run and a confident finish . I would like to see it again, I thought it was close. No complaints, maybe give Anya a run? They were thugs. What summed it up was a comment in the program that O'Driscoll wants to play football the way God, and Brian Clough intended. They did just that, nobbled our players and got 9 men back behind the ball. He nearly pointed to the spot but then decided to book Belleck.Poor decision!!!! I really hope so, it should have been today, but we sat back in the 2nd and didnt make the most of it. Same old forest, poor poor losers.
Good win today but yet again we sit on the three points in the second half instead of keeping up the tempo. Nice to see results with our play off rivals were favourable to us. Crystal Palace draw and Leicester, Middlesborough and Milwall (looks like the manager of the month award jinx has again worked it's magic!) all loosing.
Another good win for us although I agree we sat back in the second half instead of mounting up the goals with might have taken us into fifth place. Forest were poor because we made them poor, they couldn't cope with our pace an when they did break our defence their finishing was awful. There again Deeney should have scored in the second half when he was clean through and yes it was a penalty - can we appeal the booking decision? As for the Hull fan - you deserved to beat us the other week - well done!
Looks like a decent attendance too, could it be we're going to start pushing the regular gates above 15K and maybe even later in the season get toward capacity once or twicew? If so must be a good thing and IF IF IF playoffs (or auto for that matter) could we finally be seeing the completion of the fourth side? Along with the health campus good times could indeed be ahead. The Lord will be kicking himself, then again we'd still be a pimple to him.
the first half was sublime...we played some fantastic football, and frustrated Forest...the second half we sat back, and contrary to what Bucks said, i think we very rarely sit on a lead...if that were the case, we'd have sat back at Leeds and not have smashed them 1-6. 10 men are tough to play against and they made it difficult, but we got complacent for sure. However, they resorted to near violence! It was worrying watching them hack our players down...did not want them going into the christmas break with injuries. Still, we survived to tell the tale, and came out with all three points. Onward to BCFC...now, do i go or don't it...dilemma dilemma dilemma!
