Hornet in peace, as you will be aware in our first game in the two legged play off, you had a perfectly good goal chalked off at nil-nil. On such refereeing decisions a clubs destiny can be made or broken. It is a long way to the premiership even from the play-off positions. The fat lady only sings at the very final whistle. We have Cardiff at home for our last match, the possibilities on that day alone are endless. I am cautiously optomistic but there is a long way to go. Also, the Watford fans who came up for the return leg at 2-0 down were true fans and credit to them for keeping the faith. Good luck for the rest of the season.
more important than getting in this dream striker is holding onto the key players that struggling Prem sides will be itching to gamble on . we dont have a critical striker to lose thankfully , but we do have prem quality in Hobbs , Chester and to some extent Aluko Remember what happened to Watford when they lost King in the Jan window
We have has good a chance has anyone else in fact because of our first half we have extra points on the board so why not, the only problem is getting players in because we will be competing against some very big clubs with a lot of money having said that hopefully the Allams will back SB and we are in a great position to attract players. Has everyone knows we have lost two very good players this week, will we get them back? i don't know but January is so important, on top of this all clubs will get injuries and this could make the difference, i think SB will have to bring in around 3/4 players to have a big enough squad to cope. The next two homes games are massive against two very good sides but we are a good side and there is a chance we can make the gap bigger against two of our promotion rivals
Doesn't really worry me. We won't sell unless it's 'silly money' as people say, and if we get that kind of money, we'll be able to replace them I don't really see anyone leaving in January, perhaps McKenna, but I hope not.
I'm just saying! We have a decent starting-XI (Alex Bruce aside), but when the likes of Sone Aluko get injured we're really stretched (we've won 4 games blah blah, I know, but we have nobodies on the bench and our forwards can't score). We also have a lot of loan players. We need to make 4-6 signings in January IMO just to be in with a shout. PS. I know I often predict us to lose, but I don't want us to. I don't much fancy being in the Premier League with this squad though. 6-0 defeats every week ain't for me.
Erik - face it, City are **** and are gunna get relegated. As for me, I don't think we will leave the top six again this season.
It's hard not to get carried away and as a City fan theres always a chance we will mess it up but its looking good at this point in time, difficult couple of games coming up but theres nothing to stop us beating leicester and leeds if we bring our A game to the table ! With Brucey in charge we could potentially be champions come May, we have a better side than the one that took us to the prem last time out and i think we have one of if not the best side in the divison. Get a proven goalscore in and jan and it could be the final piece of the jigsaw! Would like us to get a decent keeper on a permanent deal and maybe another midfielder in. In Brucey we trust.
We could lose at home to both Leicester and Leeds- both very good teams at this level on their day. But if we do, we have enough games left and our away form is as good as our home form to remedy this minor blip.
The next three games are tough games (Leicester City (H), Leeds United (H) Blackpool (A) if we get 6 points or more from these games then i think we have to start looking at automatic promotion
In 2007/8 at the end of the season our away record was:- W8 D5 L10 = 29 Points This season at halfway house we have:- W7 D1 L4 = 22 points If we continue to enjoy the current points haul we have experienced up to now and avoid those pesky drawn games, we will amass a significantly higher total number of points. Not a given, but an exceptional haul away from home at this stage and a great platform upon which to build.
If the current transfer rumours are correct then some of our rivals will lose players in January. Poor old Brighton look another under attack. Will Buckley is there latest player to be linked with a PL move to Southampton after CMS and Bridcutt are wanted by Norwich.
