Idd a good showing but it's still a long way to the finish, though I do hope he gets on the podium, maybe infront of Webber if he's 100% on it.
So, has Nico finally got a majority of the F1 fans respect after this hard fought race for Nico? While Schumacher did struggle it was clear Nico outperformed his car for this race and yet another Brawn blunder cost Nico in the long run as we saw. In your eyes is Nico finally coming out of the shadows as a sub par driver and infact he really is emerging as a very underated talent compared to the top 5 drivers. He looks to have his starts nailed now compared to previous one's and just needs that extra bit of clout in his car to start challenging the likes of the Lewis' and Alonso's who really are the next level of competiton considering vettel is so far infront atm.
Ive always rated him highly. Anyone who gets FL in there first race must be special. Maybe he cant take pressure only time will tell. Please dont become a Heidfeld.
SilverArrow: Rosberg's big problem is his team-mate. Rosberg sits between the devil and the deep blue sea. No-one really knows if he's "out-performing the car" - but watching his driving suggests to me that he is not. If he keeps beating Schumacher (which most people are finally waking up to), he will continue to be measured against a 'poor old man'; an achievement easily perceived as nothing special. But if he loses to him, it will be easy to claim that he is under-performing when paired with such a second-rater. His only real 'proof' is to be getting that car amongst the Red Bull's every time and getting on the podium every time. And even then, it is not 'proof' as such. In my view, Rosberg is getting a raw deal: he deserves a much better team mate.
True......very true, I do find 3rd spot in quali with 1 run a "good" first showing against the other big teams, but blistering of the tyres did effect both drivers through the race, didn't hear any problems like that regarding other teams though. Alonso did admit it was hard to get past Rosberg until the tyres went. Regarding Michael with all the talk around him, maybe Schumi has finally lost the drive? It looks like he put even more preperation into this year than last but made no gains sadly for him IMO. Nico just seems to be feeling he's already got Mercedes backing for this season, just looks happy and confident regardless where he finished yesterday.
