As much as I hope you are right, neither will be rescinded because there was an incident and the FA like to support their referees 100%
I'm not sure what the rules are on that. As in, would he be able to train with our team despite not being under contract? He obviously wouldn't be playing for us, but I imagine there's still a lot of insurance paperwork involved in that. Would be odd to do a medical and then send him back for a week of training at Chelsea.
He'd be allowed to train with us but would remain a Chelsea player until 1 January. What if he breaks his leg in training? We would obviously want to pull out.
Also seems odd that there was a deal in place for him in August which we didn't complete, and are now returning to. It's like knowing you need petrol in your car but driving straight past a station, then driving slow as **** and running on fumes before doing a u-turn and going back to the same station. Exactly like that, in fact.
I'm guessing he's going to be playing on one of the flanks for the most part. Not exactly prolific, but he's probably got more goals in him than our other wide options.
I think sturridge is a top player and a steal at £12m. Benitez is really looking after Liverpool. If he plays and is not cup tied I predict he will get 10 goals at least.
how is £12m a steal for someone who's been sitting on the bench and the injury table for 12 months? I think your judgement of a bargain has been clouded by you previous British signings.
Wish the lad luck, I was probably one of the only Chelsea fans that actually liked the kid. Great player imo but ****ed around with at Chelsea, his record when played to his strengths at Bolton speaks for itself. Happy we made a profit though.
Unbelievably i have almost that exact bet on with my mate Elliot, who bet me that a player would not score 10 this season (all matches included), i bet he would, he is currently on 3 do u know who I speak of Yeah baby, Downing Starting to feel confident B4 u do it Gerrez Ffs
Can't really say 12M for a player who has 6 months left on his contract is a steal. I'm not sold on Sturridge. He's obviously fast and is pretty comfortable going with either foot. But he's ultra greedy, seems to make bad decisions and has a pretty poor first touch. Don't know if he'll work hard enough for the team if played out wide, and can't see him playing through the middle if that means shifting Suarez elsewhere. Not saying he doesn't add something to the squad, but can't help but feel that 12M might be better spent elsewhere.
About half of that according to Wiki With Sturridge's contract at Manchester City expired, he signed for Chelsea on a four-year contract on 3 July 2009.[16] As Sturridge is under the age of 24,[17] and the two sides were unable to agree a deal, the fee for Sturridge was decided by a tribunal. The Professional Football Compensation Committee decided on 14 January 2010, that Chelsea would pay an initial fee of £3.5 million with additional payments of £500,000 after each of 10, 20, 30 and 40 first-team competitive appearances. There will also be a further payment of £1 million if the player makes a full international appearance, and Manchester City will receive 15 percent of any sell-on fee if Sturridge is transferred.
May I say, if you didnt notice I pointed out at 142pm yesterday on the Transfer Window thread, 6 hrs before the media got it, that Sturridge was having his medical today, btw
I put on the match thread yesterday that it got mentioned on the radio that Sturridge was having a medical today. When i heard it i thought the window does not open for another week so started thinking it was one of them Twitter moments again. Looks like they got it right on the news desk at Radiocity
FFS... As I said above, I just don't get why there is a medical taking place eight days before we can officially sign him! PS - you lost your money on Downing
