Why. Just why. Looks completely shot of confidence and we go and play him at right back. Tbh, I dont even understand why we changed the full backs at all really. Everyone had a decent game v Fulham last week - surely the motto is dont fix it unless its broken?
Harry made an absolute balls of it today. Ferdinand is a useless twat. He's been living off his idiot brother's reputation for years. Get him out the door.
Couldnt really be blamed for a lot, was not at fault for too much but as i said, I hope Traore and Onuoha are being saved for 3 points on boxing day.
Absolutely. I would say there's up to 10 hangers-on in our squad that we could do with getting shot of. All recruits of Mark "El Saviour" Hughes of course. Of course we won't be able to get shot of them all right away but we can gradually undo Hughes' damage over the coming months. The only thing that surprises me is that you seem to disagree! One win in half a season with this bunch of clowns remember!
He barely offered any opposition to their wingers, who were free to deliver cross after cross into the box. Too many aimless hoofs that piled pressure on us too.
I'd agree, a lot of players had poor games. Green seemed edgier than usual, Hill was pants, Granero was lazy and gave his man too much space with token defensive efforts, cisse was anonymous- and didn't apply as much pressure to the opposition defenders whilst not in possession as in previous weeks. Taraabt wasn't as effective as last week- was he not played in "the hole" today? Mackie and Cisse were both needlessly offside too often.
Also want to single out Cisse - a truly awful performance from a striker. Constantly offside, didnt do a single thing bar a tame shot from about 25yds that only just got to the goal. What on earth has happened in a week!
Think Harry almost got it right today. Mixing it around going into a hectic schedule. Traore has played a lot more than he and his hamstrings are used to. If he would have played today the risk of him getting injured today or sometime before new year would have increased dramatically. Ferdinand didn't do much wrong defensively, totally lost attacking but I never would expect anything from him going forward anyway.
Post match, harry said Traore and Onouha pulled out this morning, meaning he had to field a back line who hadn't trained together all week.
Ferdinand cannot be made a scapegoat for this match. As much as you may dislike him he's playing in a position that is completely unfamiliar to him. He is not confident going forward why would he be? He's a centre half. Hill also had a below par match as did most so to pile it on him is unfair. Unlike others who can be mentioned Ferdinand genuinely plays for the club. He may not be great but he plays for the name on the front of the shirt and is often the last off the pitch at the end of the match applauding the fans and giving his shirt to a kid. Please dont turn him into another Fitz Hallesque hate figure.
Couldn't disagree more. Ferdinand plays for no-one but himself. Its the name on the back of the shirt he's interested in and not the one on the front. His entire history at this Cub has been one of self aggrandisement and he's an air-head to boot. If that's all he has to do to convince you then there's more infantilism on this Board than I hereto gave it credit for. His hucksterism obviously doesn't have to be of a very high quality to take in some of the more impressionable. Depressing stuff this.
