He's scored loads of good goals for us and he's one of our most talented footballers.

As for running a game, that's exactly what he does do. Nearly every game he plays he's on the ball more than anyone and moving the thing about without losing it. Sadly most people just call that 'sideways passing' and don't understand the value of it.

Have to agree that Cairney came on and saved the Huddersfield game, we was losing it, he came on and kept possession spread play well and got forward, he's play two games since he has come back and he is on your back already.

He's the biggest under achiever... he's done **** all since this

    http://soccer-portal.org/video/1436-tom-cairney-goal-v-everton.html

I frankly don't care if he's been injured, some promising players have underachieved because of an injury prone career, just because it's not his fault doesn't mean I can't claim he has underachieved.

Considering Liverpool/everton were sniffing back then I'd say he's underachieved.

Not being funny though, he goes missing more than he dominates and takes control of the game.

and he has scored loads of important goals for us??? wtf... he has scored 4 goals in 52 games for us in 3 and a half seasons... 2 of those came in cup games and one in a thrashing by everton... I wouldn't exactly say he has been a very good player for us.

    Plus he's a TWS youth.

There's the beautiful chip against Ipswich last year, a free kick against Norwich two years ago, the aforementioned stunner against Everton, a free kick against Southend and he's scored a fair few in friendlies too, most of which were equally dazzling: a 25-yarder against Dundee and two against Bradford including another free kick and one where he took it past 3 players before finding the top corner with his right foot (that he doesn't have).

The guy only ever scores brilliant goals...

Jobbo suggested Cairney hasn't scored good goals.

I listed several good goals he's scored.

So yeah good logic suggests I must be biased. Couldn't possibly be that it's a valid point.

I'm just saying... only his mother would remember every single goal the lad has scored and the manner he's scored them in... especially in friendly games.

Do you also know what minute of the match they were in?

You have to be related to him to know all of that and say he is one of our most talented players

TC is not a significant game changer.........a squad member at best for a decent team, and thats what we are. Thats all...however much weight he loses !

There are two things TC lacks.

One is pace, for which, I'm afraid nothing can be done.

The other is consistency which may come with experience.

If he acquires the latter I have no doubt he is capable of carving out a career for himself in the Premiership. Without it, like Stuart Green, I'm afraid he will fade away.

He has a great left peg. I was at the Watford game early and watching the players warm up, he was taking potshots at the goal and practically every one of them went into the top or bottom corners, he was putting them away even more clinically than our strikers (I know that's not exactly massive praise). I fancy him to come good this season.

I really don't think pace matters for a CM at all. Koren, Quinn, Evans, etc. none of them are fast but it doesn't affect them. I wouldn't say Cairney was any slower.

FFS, he's only 21 years old and he's had a bad injury setback and suffered to some degree of Premiershipbillybigbollockitus, give the lad a chance!

He's got quality, surely anyone that has seen him play knows that, and, you never know, with a bit of, y'know, support, I realise that's difficult for some, he MAY just become a world beater!

    Unfcukingbelievable!

You cairney fan boys are like a broken record, this is the same **** people said when he was 18,19,20 years old...

He has had many chances. I think he doesn't have the right head on his shoulders and my support or non-support shouldn't affect anything really.

I dont think DM is in any hurry if at all to return to Sunderland and bench warming duties. Fingers crossed that the Mackems have not picked up any injuries from the Saints game. I was told (but not heard it myself) that Steve Bruce told Burnsy post match Derby that Wood, Meyler, Stockdale and Brady were his top Jan targets. Perm and loans. Is this true ?

It did cross my mind that Meyler took a booking @ Derby (his 5th) just to piss off MON ? <whistle> DM now suspended for boxing day regardless.
