GUTTED...no game today and a mid week game to now be played all the way back up at YORK. positives, the team get to spend the day togeather and bond some more, as well as come January we will have a new player or two to help our cause. shame the team had to travel before finding out first of all !
Oh well gives us chance to keep an eye on any L2 games that remain on. Some positives, third placed auto contenders Cheltenham were thrashed last night away to Rochdale 4-1 Also Burton one point outside the playoffs lost away to Barnet 3-2 despite leading that game. Sadly Southend won, we will quickly move on... Might keep an eye on the Port Vale game today against AFC Wimbledon if that does not become a casualty of the weather. Although I can only see one outcome to this game but hey its Christmas you never know! Also at least we can go in to our game against Barnet without worry of suspensions while moving ever nearer the January window.
Feel sorry for supporters on coaches. No doubt they're on their way back, but no fun to get up that early just for a trip up various motorways and back again.
I would not wanting to be sitting next to alwaysright on that coach ps. The official stayed in York overnight, so I read on twitter, so why can these judgements not be made before 9am, especially as it was being predicted last night the game might be called off. Maybe if the powers that be had to recompense travelling supporters they might take another look at their procedures.
I've seen it said on various forums that York asked for the officials to inspect the pitch last night (fearing/knowing it would be too bad), but the FL / FA refused... Beggars belief if true.
brb ( and others ) Good morning - I took a gamble that the game would be postponed & decided not to get up at 430am - so I am not sat on a coach on the M25..... although I don't fancy another long mid-week trip' Merry Christmas
That's good mate. I really wanted to say to you last night about not going, because of the feeds I was reading on twitter but I thought you might not be happy with me if the game went ahead.
Trouble is this did not need hindsight. York wanted to call the game off last night. The weather forecast was for more down pours from 5am. It was a very slim chance the game would remain on but the FA as normal were being... please log in to view this image Well hopefully not really because of this... http://www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/10124822.Foss_barrier_set_to_save_York_homes_from_flooding/
I meant regards your insight after the said outcome fella and the FA never help a cause ! anyway have a good one...one and all
There are some plus points. I was going but didn't get in until 3am this morning and when I woke up my head was banging and not sure if I could get to the train station in time let alone stand in the rain at the ground!!! Also with the players on yellow cards it is one less game to play before they are wiped out at the end of the year.
