Well the blokes been here for half a season now and from what i can make out he is doing a pretty good job so far . In fact sod it , id say he has been a revelation , not only with the results in the league and playing mostly bloody good football , but all those other bits that can go unnoticed . His interview manner has always been friendly without pompousness arrogance and the like . He really has - to me anyway - been a bloodly good bloke to listen to. He also shows a more playful side when waffling about his home life , misses n Alex . We get none of the blandage we had off Taylor none of the self adulation from Brownie or the arrogant grumpage from Pearson or even the mardy sulking from Barmby not sure why some dislike him , is it because he played for Man Utd ? because some do have a strange hatred for them or is it really because of his looks - which frankly is stupid. for me he is the best manager we have had in the 40 years ive been following the Tigers
Got to say I totally agree with you the way we are playing, the signings and loan players he has brought in and the style of football is fantastic. Take the Crystal Palace game we murdered them and it ended up a draw and I left feeling great about everything I can't say that used to happen too many times in the past. I would definitely say he's one of the best we have had at City.
It's certainly the best City side I have seen. Better than the Premier League and Play off winning team IMHO. His player recruitment has been exceptional, even players that haven't yet shone, you feel they will do, eventually! I can't help but feel optimistic between now and the end of the season. I'm sure I heard Bruce interviewed on the way to Derby and he said Chris Wood was on the radar, he'd be excellent and the best striker we've been linked with.
I have a man crush on Steve and that is not something i'm ashamed to admit. He is an all round cracking guy; not a bad manager either...
Good post, I would agree with all you have said Bruce is the best manager we have had and I have supported City since 1946. (I'm too old to calculate how many years that is.) I only hope its City's year again
I don't wish to spoil this festive Brucie lovefest, but managers show their true worth when a team is in a rough patch. Baaa Humbug !!
Soz Stan, didn't see your post but it shows we're both thinking the same thing. I just hope it's not an unrequited love and Party isn't left with a broken heart.
I fully agree, I have watch the Tigers for 40 years, and from what I have seen SB is the best manager we have had since the sixties. I like his interviews with Burnsy, and get the feeling that Burnsy actually enjoys interviewing him. I always felt with NP and some degree NB, he felt he was treading on egg shells when talk to them. The football is a pleasure to watch, and all the players seem settled and happy with their job. Long may it continue. UTT
He looks like Mrs. Doubtfire. I'll reserve my judgement til end ut bloody season like, but the odd bit and bob aside, I think hes been bloody fantastic like. Glad he's proving me wrong.
Look, I met the bloke and we have since forged an unbreakable friendship. I can confirm that he is a lovely bloke, and as we all can see, a very good manager. I haven't received my invite yet, but I'm certain I'll be asked to go to his at Xmas, I will pass on your regards...
City are the smallest club (in terms of honours won on the game) that he's been at, so any success on the pitch will grant him instant hero status. Plus it helps that the fans aren't claling him a fat Geordie bastard alla the Mackems.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...by-1-Hull-2-Abdoulaye-Faye-scores-winner.html Love this bit. ‘It’s been some year,’ said Bruce. ‘For me, it was just a case of whether I had the appetite for it but you know me. I want to work and obviously I’m pleased. ‘But I’m more pleased for my owners Assem and Ehab Allam. I think they have pumped something like £60million into Hull City. The club would already be in oblivion without them. ‘Outside of Hull, nobody seems to give a damn about us. We were 33-1 shots for promotion at the start of the season and we have not been on the radar but in our “principality of Hull” we are doing OK.’ Top top bloke.
Sums it up really, the player recruitment has been exceptional give or take a few Germans who might still come good
Made me laugh after the game last night when Burnsy said to him: "You brought big Faye back into the fold, how do you think he did?" and Bruce replied.... "When they start launching the long. high balls into the box, he's like a magnet isn't he? The ball is just attracted to him, he just loves to get his big fat head on it!"
