    ****ing brilliant result.

Just need Palace, Boro and Leicester to drop points.

I honestly believe if we can get a top striker in and sign Stockdale we will win this league. No team is better and no manager is better.

    Draws draws and more draws.

The more games that end in draws will probably mean the less points needed for automatic.

Sounds like Faye came in and had a stormer tonight. Not only scored the winner but Radio Derby more or less admitted that he had that Sammon in his pocket.
All of our defenders are playing out of their skins this season. Hobbs has slotted straight back in as if he was never gone, Chester is just class, Bruce has proved all the doubters wrong and when Macca or Faye play they put in MOM performances.
    Long may it last.

Totally agree - I'd want 1 point rather than 3 awarded every time.

Still don't understand why Faye has been so far from the 1st team for so long...

    Enjoyed the irony of my mate Steve Bruce's comment tonight;

"He got his big fat head on it".

    Superb.

    Yes he did.

To be fair in the Birmingham and Burnley games he didn't play particularly well. He's certainly got a goal in him, it'd be great if he could get 10 for the season.

I went tonight and haven't heard any match report on the radio, so came on here to see what the radio said. I agree we were hardly in top form and we were more clinical.

They had a lot of possession, but did bugger all with it.

We contained them pretty well throughout and let them have shots on goal from range. Which were either blocked, saved or went well wide.

That Hughes(?) pulled the strings for them in midfield but nobody did anything for them upfront.

They had a lot more corners and wasted them all.

There was nothing the keeper could have done about the goal.

Our first, there was a hint of it going out but we still had a lot to do after that.

Defence, midfield and keeper solid enough. Koren is scoring, but lack of goals upfront is a worry.

Went last night, we weren't great but we did what we needed to do. If we can grind out wins at places like Derby then we're on the right track. We looked a top 6 side last night with the way we closed the game out and didn't buckle when Derby put the pressure on late on. I thought Jakupovic had a decent game last night, the defence did their job very well as did the midfield. Would agree with Golaccio's point about the forwards though, hopefully we've made plans to bring in a proven striker once the transfer window reopens.

First half I felt Quinn was brilliant, second half Brady stole the show for me. The problem was that there wasn't a poor performance in the team.

He came straight into the team without hardly training for 3 months. In his first appearance he was blowing out his arse after 20 minutes. He played nearly every other game cos he had to (Bruce obvs didnt fancy Macca then). When it transpired we actually had some depth he had a much needed rest, simple as.

Great player to have in back up and also a top, top bloke.

Me neither, I'd have him in my starting back 3 with Chester and Hobbs every day of the week, I understand he needs to occasional rest, but when he's fit he should be starting games.

Another great result, and we are really showing that we are getting some consistency into the games now. By reading the posts from those that went, it sounds that there was not a bad performance by anyone, which is great to hear. onwards and upwards. Just need results today to go in a favour.

I don't know whether anyone else posted this, but I was following the game on twitter last night and Sone Aluko tweeted the following, which I thought was revealing.

He was on the front of the programme. Hughes looks like Ryddian from X-Factor fame from distance with his dodgy hair style. I thought he was poor overall in the game.

You got the score right and Meyler got booked. Simpson was feeding off scraps but did alot of running for someone not 100% ?

Yes he did. But dont tell Chazz that one.

Sadly for Simpson he did not have any clear cut chances. Fed off scraps. But did his bit with lots of running.

Yes. His headers on goal do normally cross over the line. What a big unit he is to mark though. Lol.

You should HAVE HEARD the radio derby build the game up. far worse than Burnsy and Swanny in what they say.

Without Austin Burnley would be a bottom 3 club. I dont see Austin being there by 1st February actually. Rumours saturday that LESTA/PEARSON HAVE A BID IN. £4M PLUS VARDY.!!!! TWT

Derby steward said that over 1300 City fans inside Pride Park. Good stuff.

Faye was great. Hobbs and Chester either side do all the leg work and Faye just does simple and basic defending. Derby security called to assist Faye to remove Salmon from his pocket. Great header to win us the game.

Interesting. But many players say that. "Rather play than watch"
