Don't care we have won thats the main thing, WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE, joint top anyway and it might only be until tomorrow but great result, two hard home games, lets get behind the lads, well done ,come on city
You don't get points for having shots on goal, you get points for scoring. The team who scores the most goals deserves to win. I said the same when Peterborough beat us (4 shots on target, 3 goals scored), so I'm not going to change my tune now we're the beneficiaries! Think how good we'd be if we had a goalkeeper and some strikers...
This can only be a good thing with improvement to come! Made up this evening, can celebrate christmas with us top of the league, who cares about goal difference- when was the last time we went into christmas top of any league if ever?! Jingle bells!!
You dont often convert 100% of your chances either. My point being, come up against the likes of Leeds and Leicester and I highly doubt 2 shots on target will bring home the 3 points.
I don't even have to think to realise you can't spell. [NSFW] please log in to view this image [/NSFW]
Derby beat Leeds 3-1 and a Leicester fan I know said although they beat Derby 4-1 recently it was Derby that ran them off the pitch. Leicester have been sussed now. Their best player is knockaert. He makes them tick, but he doesn't like it up him as Jonesy would say. Millwall kept him quiet with a few bruises and Leicester had nothing.
Proper **** when it happens to you, but bloody satisfying when it goes for you. A substantial amount of Derby's shots on target were from outside the area so the stats are slightly misleading. Pundits have always said the mark of a good team is picking up wins when not at their best or the other team is on top........we are a good team
I'm glad we took our chances when they came, that has been one of our major problems in recent seasons. We were away from home against a side who had just lost once at home all season, We weren't going to create bucket loads of chances and away from home when the chances do come you take them. I'd expect us to be more creative at home, but as away performances go we did what we needed to do last night and did it well.
After we've won 14 out of 23 games this season and moved into the top 2 I struggle to see how anyone could think we'll lose games 3-0/3-1 consistently.
I honestly don't remember the keeper having to make any saves other than one in the second half. These stats are very misleading.
This is the first time I have ever registered on another team's site, but your fns seem so level headed and reasonable that I thought I'd give some feedback. The stats were misleading. I'm a Derby supporter of many years standing, so obviously I'll be slightly biased towards them, but here is my take on it. You may have only had 3 shots, but you regularly got into good positions, put some good crosses over that on another day someone would have been on the end of. They don't count as shots on target or off, but they are a very good indication of attacking ability. I can recall at least four of those where we really struggled to clear our lines. regarding our shots - I think the stats say 18? Well I'd say a more realistic number would be 7-8. Of those two or three were ones that your keeper did extermely well to hold on to - other keepers would have fumbled at least one of them. So did you deserve to win? A difficult question. I don't think a draw would have been unfair, nor do I think you could have complained if we had won, but I don't think a win to you was unreasonable at all. You have a good side. You played some very slick flowing football, if a little unadventurous at times - you seemed to want to walk the ball into the net. But nevertheless the quality was clearly evident, and in spite of three or four bookings, you were a clean side. I enjoyed the game in spite of losing, and I'd be genuinely pleased if you get promoted. Your brought a lot of supporters for a Friday night the weekend before Christmas. Good luck for the rest of the season.
In the Yorkshire post it reports a number of Derby fans "booed " their team off. Why? Okay they huffed and puffed and things didn't go their way but as Derby Lad says could have gone their way. Me, I thought we had things pretty much under control most of the time but what do I know.
