Sunderland and Fulham chase Barcelona star? It has emerged today that Fulham and Sunderland will try and persuade Sergi Roberto to stich the Nou Camp and try his luck at the Premier League when the winter transfer window opens up in just a few weeksâ time. Roberto, 20, has struggled to make his breakthrough into the first-team at the Nou Camp even though he has been outstanding for Barcelona B over the last few years. Sunderland boss Martin OâNeill is looking to strengthen his squad next month and add some more quality to his midfield. Fulham manager Martin Jol is also believed to be a big admirer of the talented youngster and could make his move in January. Reports in Spanish daily newspaper Sport claim Roberto could be set to leave Barcelona in the next few weeks and both Sunderland and Fulham are among the favourites to clinch his signature. The young man just needs a chance at first team action and although a move away from the brilliant Barcelona may sound a little crazy, he needs to get some minutes on the pitch if he is to fulfil his potential.
Don't know anything about him but if you're going to sign a youngster... You do it from barca! Mush may know of him.
Im sure he plays in the Spanish 2nd or 3rd division, worst 2.5 mill or so ever spent, i wonder who is worse, Riera, Nunez or Medina
This lad's five years younger than Riera was and he's already amassed a similar amount of caps for Barca B. Worth a look for me.
Like we did with Arnau Riera?? No idea about him all in all. But if he's good enough for Barca then I'd say he'd be good enough for us Edit: note to self. Read other comments before saying the same as everyone else has!!!
Never heard of him or heard mention of him even on Sky so bit of a gamble. Mind you looking at the mix of dross and crocks we are linked with a gamble I would take.
