Mornin mate. ....andeveryone else of course! If H doesn't raid at least one player from us in Jan I'll be amazed.
Wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't buy from us at all. The players he'd want (daws, parker, defoe?) would be a) too expensive and b) wouldn't want to go into a relegation battle. The players we'd let him buy (hudd etc) wouldn't help them. Can see him looking abroad. Miracle if they don't go down
Seems a shame to disappoint the lads here desperate for a signing, but scrolling across SSN is a report from AVB saying he's doesn't expect any signings at all!. Again for me, the number one issue is lighten the wage bill from the likes of Bentley, JJ, Gomes, and one or two others.....they have to go this time!!!!!
I think we're OK for the moment at LB, Benny's still only 28 so he's got a few year at least left in him. Providing he doesn't have a set back, he'll be back soon and Jan can go back to CB. I think bringing in an experienced LB for the time being could work, someone with 1 maybe 2 seasons left in them, just to provide cover and keep Benny on his toes. Though if you're looking for one for the future, Benjamin Mendy of Le Havre could be a decent shout. Already in their first team, a France U-19 international and he was supossedly watched by Arsenal earlier this year. Not seen him play personally but I've read up about him, seems a good prospect.
You reckon parker would go? Lightening the wage bill would be ideal! And generating even minor capital from sales would be a massive bonus! 4 kak players out would cover an 8m in + wages, with money to spare for the marquee signing's fee and salary. (That is of course, unlikely to come in Jan! Sellers market and all...)
This is another one who's being monitered I think: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/massadio-haidara/profil/spieler_170929.html Has bags of potential, U21... But I agree, BAE, as long as there aren't any injury set backs is an excellent first choice (got complacent at times last year though - most likely through lack of competition perhaps)
Such is the clamour for a new face or two, I think it may have slipped some minds we've still got high earners which have to go. We've clearly committed big money recently to a couple of players, same ol thing for Spurs I can't see us just keep adding to that.
...didn't expect this one! scroll past the Kalou article - http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/qpr-ask-to-take-lille-forward-1499198
weird that...must be genetics or is it just opportunities? Never sits right with me how you get the breaks because of who your dad is when there are probably better kids out there...actually pisses me right off considering im a father myself with a son whos an avid footballer and Spurs fan to boot.
No surprise as his position at Spurs has been marginalised since AVB took over. He barely works with the players now and is effectively being used as a scout. I imagine he will be happy to get back doing some coaching at QPR. No surprise on Clive Allen being mentioned either. He was at the Lane last Saturday doing media work and is desperate to get back into coaching and he had a good relationship with Harry. .
Not sure why, though - Sir Les was a part-time coach under Harry and, let's be honest, our strikers' finishing was often extremely wasteful, for example the 0-0 with Hull where we had 27 shots on target (and most of those were straight at the keeper...)
Ah, I see, I just thought those that avoided the cull were well thought of and were being kept. Like you, no surprise with Allen 'on the dole'!
Thats hardly the fault of a coach imo. Totally agree with wasteful finishing, but thats more the standard of striker.
Come to think of it, what did we practice on the training ground? We didn't practice set pieces, it appeared we didn't practice finishing nor did we have the likes of VDV or Huddlestone work on their conditioning, so what did we do every day? Play five-a-sides and nothing else?
