http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...1/Paul-Robinson-leaving-Blackburn-Rovers.html Even with Prem clubs after him, given our sudden goalkeeping situation, would you try and get him?
He's from Leconfield, was at City as a kid, then Leeds youth academy pinched him. (at least that's what I was told). Be good if West Brom gets him (Myhill back?) or Fulham (Stockdale back).
He was in the year above me at Beverley Grammar, he played for York's youth team before he joined Leeds. I watched him play for school a few times, I always thought he was ****, but proves what I know.
The guy was on Late Kick-Off a year or two ago and he was asked if he would consider rejoining Leeds, and he said 'never say never'. He was also asked if he'd consider joining us, and he as good as ignored the question. He may have been a regular visitor to Boothferry Park with his Grandad, but I'd say he's definitely a fan of the Peacocks (cheep! cheep!)
It must have been trials he had at City then, because I know someone that was also a goalkeeper that was at City at the same time as him.
I was year below him at Leconfield primary and played sat league kids football with him for a few years too and did a few summer football camps with him, even at those ridiculously early ages you could tell that he was a different class and he was only ever bothered about playing in goal, always went in nets for heads and volleys. He is a Leeds fan, but his parents still live in Leconfield I believe, he'd be an amazing asset to us, I think he's the best 'keeper outside the premier league.
He was two school years younger than me and he played in goal for our sixth form team. He was head and shoulders above any keeper I ever played with. Remember one save from a free kick was unbelievable! Was quite good mates with him then and his dad used to mot my car!! I believe he was at Leeds from about 12? Think he will fancy the prem but he split with his missus last year and I believe her and the two kids are back in the area so you never know!
I reckon he's next in line for one of those hair transplants that all the cricketers are having. When I say all, I mean the ones that are receding. Michael Vaughan, Graham Gooch and Shane Warne have all had them done. They'd be bald as badgers( stupid saying as badgers have good head of hair usually) if they hadn 't had the old transplant. Robinson is definitely looking a bit thin on top these days. Good keeper though.
I've always thought Robinson was a great 'keeper. Haven't seen much of him in the last year or so but I thought he should still have been England's 2nd choice 'keeper up until then.
