Wycombe know that they achieved promotion by default. In some peoples language they would call it cheating. I would'nt say that but lets face it Shrews should have gone up and Wycombe in the playoffs.
personally i think it is time to tread grapes not sour grapes, town had their chance against accrington, at shots, torquay and many other places. again well done wobblers, but can you stay up this time. i think you need matty harrold to help you in that direction!!
Thanks Atcham. You can keep Matty, you're alright lol. WhatShrew, sorry, I admit it wasn't a goal, but then again what would you have done if it was the other way? Owned up? No, I don't think so. Like I said, it's the results over the whole season that matters, we could similarly argue that in our recent draws we should have had penalties that would have won us the game, so we'd have had three points and not one point, and the Gaz non-goal wouldn't be up for discussion. Swings and roundabouts. Good luck in the play offs, have enjoyed our banter and would love to see it continue next season. Cheers.
We lost out, the team did miss many chances over the whole season is "that no-goal" going to replace the "not a corner" against the Gills at Wembley?
what shrew - it's over 46 games mate. What about your keeper letting Montrose's shot squirm under his body in the game at Adams Park for example? Two points lost that could have sent you up. Football is all about if's and maybe's but the statistics never lie. Good luck in the playoffs.
"maybe see you next season". we will see you next season, once we have overcome the little matter of getting 1 point out of 6 against the gulls and stanleys 14 game unbeaten run, oh yes we will be there, providing we don't trip over that ruddy awful badge. floreat salopia, come on you shrews, breathe on 'em salop and do not feed the seagulls!!
Thing is lads, this was A 'GOAL' not a penalty. It wasnt a 'will he won't he score' it was a goal- it was also not even close. Smith(our goalie) stumbled then pulled off a brilliant save, and a Wycombe striker tried to rush to the rebound(proving they didn't think it had gone in) but Smith smothered it.I doubt there has been a gaff like it all season and especially if it has as much significance It was a horrendous mistake, how he coudl've thought it had gone in is beyond me, but just highlights the need for video technology which would take 10 seconds by some boffin with a laptop in the commentators box; not exactly 'disrupting the game' as the baboons at Fifa claim. If this new Middle Eastern challenger to Blatter promises to bring it into the game snap his hand off! Despite this i don't (think) I'm holding (too many) grudges against you Congratulations and Goodluck; all will be forgotten anyway if we finally have anything resembling luck in the play offs
oh dear you shrews should get over this ainsworth no goal and get behind your team for the play offs,i really hope your players are not dwelling on this no goal as much as the shrews fans are cos you need to go into these games with a clear head and be positive.get behind your team and you never know you could be joining us in div 1.
yes you loose stuffing chairboys, stop going on about that ghoul sorry goal. we have higher things on our minds like how we may beat the gulls over 2 legs , which tram stop do we stand at to get to old trafford and will matty harrold score the winning goal at ot. if he did i would offer him the freedom of our ancient borough, with a chain containing 3 loggerheads and a floreat salopia, made of gold mined at shropshires new goldmine at snailbeach. fools gold. so wobblers you have done the business go and enjoy a well earned jelly and icecream summer holiday.
A certain Mr Bull is making himself look an ingratious tool in the Bucks local press. He is quoted as saying that he has waited 7 years to gain his revenge over Shrewsbury after their play off defeat of Aldershot. He also goes on to say that he hopes Shrewsbury lose in the play-offs. Keep on trying Nikki you might overtake a certain Mr Wigglesworth on my hate list. You will certainly be assured of a very warm welcome in Shrewsbury and hopefully that will be next season.
i read about that article this morning but i didnt post that on here because i knew it would upset you lot, sorry about that
