Adapt or die. not our fault the Scottish league doesn't have the draw that the English premiership has. If you took the EPL out of the equation you would be saying scottish football is killing the Irish and Welsh leagues then? And to be honest, i never even look at the results of the Scottish leagues anymore.
Jip , your probably one of these ars*s that takes his camera to a game . Why slag Scottish football have you ever been to a game ???Hearts this season got rid of half their team and had a team of youngster out against a Liverpool team that cost 180 million and they needed a late Saurez goal to go through .
Hawkeye , I 've only been to one premiership game in my life , Norwich v Aston villa , bored out my tree will never go to another . Seen my own team over 2 thousand times home away and abroad and still been to 18 English grounds (European / testimonials ). Yes epl gets good crowds but there's no passion , that there is in Glasgow
England's golden age (8 finalists in 8 years in the CL) does feel like it's coming to an end and it is unlikely that we'll have a side in the quarters this year, the draw could have been kinder. Harryhood67 comes across as your typically bitter and bigoted scotch-mick, all rather sad really.
I think the problems in Scottish football go a lot deeper than anything you can blame on the Premier League. Where are all the world class Scottish footballers? I don't see any, anywhere.
Well apart from the obvious ones like Gerrard, Scholes, Ashley Cole, Lampard etc, who are all getting on a bit now, I'll give you a few for the future; Walcott, Oxlaide- Chamberlain, Wiltshire, Adam Lallana, and the 17 year old Luke Shaw. So the future's not looking to bad for England, despite the fact that technically we are still a long way behind Germany and Spain (**** France, they're a rugby nation first). Oh, and there's ****loads of hash and wine in Spain, btw, so you'll have to look harder for the cause of the sad death of Scottish football.
You never answered the question about World Class English footballers ... Scholes is the only one who can be considered World Class at his peak !
It's a sad day indeed when my lovely Welsh boyos put Scotland to the sword so easily. A sad decline for a once proud footballing nation.
I see the discussion has moved on from "The Premier League is overrated" to "English players are overrated", is this an admission from the scotchies that the first claim was in fact bollox?
What, so Gerrard at his best wasn't world class? And name a better left back than Ashley Cole. Roberto Carlos is retired, btw.
Find me one person who doesn't support an English team who thinks the AbuDhabi-debt league is better than the Bundesliga or La Liga. "The Premiership" has almost ruined European football - it's blind loyalty to deny that.
No, he was great player at his best but peopel like Scholes shat on him ... A better LB than Cole Lahm!
