How can Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea and City all be winning all the time? For one of them to succeed, by definition, another must fail.

Anyway, its not comparable because its pretty much always been a straight race between Celtic and Rangers and the 3rd placed side do be a ridiculous amount of points behind. The way it is now, with Rangers out of the way for 3 years, is worse. Since the PL started 20 years ago there have been five different winners. In that time, and well before it, there have been just either Celtic or Rangers winning the SPL.

Also, the rest of the SPL is not comparable to the rest of the EPL. The quality of the sides outside the big four e.g Spurs, Everton, Newcastle, Liverpool etc. are far greater than Hearts, Motherwell, Dundee Utd etc.

Maybe the truth is a little more off-putting? Maybe you are afraid of being beaten bad and relegated?

Yes that must be the answer. A small club like Celtic would never succeed in the EPL when faced with such monster clubs as Wigan, Stoke, QPR, Swansea, Reading, West Brom, Norwich, Fulham and Southampton? Our worldwide fanbase (allied to our immense marketing potential if we were given entry into the EPL) would be a real hindrance would it not, I mean how could we hope to compete or attract players if we offered better wages than 75% of the Diddy English teams?

No you must be right, I must be worried that we would actually be worse than the teams i've mentioned.

Or could it be because i'm really not that enamoured with English football and it's outrageous number of multi millionaire footballing whores who ply their trade in diddy teams for purely financial gain? I find it excessive and nauseating and not a little tawdry.

Scottish football may be no great shakes, but Scotland has a higher per head of population attendance figure than England. Go figger, must be a lot of people like me who like Scottish Football for what it is.

Fair enough but I do see it as a lamentable lack of ambition and I know you don't agree, but I do believe there is a lot of fear there that you might not be able to compete in the EPL. After all, you've been losing out on players to English Championship sides in the last few years, never mind PL sides.

A classic tactic. All he is missing now is someone to back him up. That way you double lose.

Obviously I can't recall names off the top of my head but David James choosing that great powerhouse of English football - Bristol City - over you is one. And in recent seasons there has been dozens, if not scores of players that have snubbed the ugly sisters for Ch'ship and lower EPL sides.

Just as a matter of interest with regard your post at the top. What makes you think Celtic would do any better than a Club like say Norwich in the EPL? I notice you mentioned Global network but Liverpool have been banging on about that for 20 years now and it ain't helped them much in the way of winning the title.

Considering your current struggles to do away with the also-rans at the top of the SPL (your CL exploits aside), I think you would struggle on a weekly basis down south. You might even get relegated if you were in that League.

I'm not wumming, its a serious point btw.

    (b) More Money (see the point I made about Millionaire whores)

    (c) For the reasons I have already stated in post 102

    (d)As might QPR this season.

You might and you might not, RebelBhoy. I'm certainly not convinced that you would. It would be interesting to see though.

Put it this way. Two or three years ago I would have you dead certs for relegation. In fact, when Gordon Strachan was taking gluts of players out of your clutches to go and play at Middlesbrough in the Championsh*t, I think you would have seriously struggled in that notoriously competitive division too.

However, today I think you'd compete in the EPL but would be scrapping around at the bottom in the same way Sunderland, Villa and Newcastle are at the moment. I think you'd stay up alright but only just. As for the HUNS, reckon they'd be lower Ch'sh*t at best.

When are Derry taking Pat McCourt back? We tried to sign him from the Candystripes when Ian Holloway was our Manager. Good player.

As Reb says, stop talking ****e as it's quite clear - as well as being a very poor WUM - you don't have a clue what you are talking about.

I'm sorry if it upsets you Dev but the truth is the truth. I remember winding my Celtic-supporting mate up about two - three years ago week after week when Celtic targets were choosing NPC Clubs over them. It seems to have abated for now but it did illustrate just how far the Old Firm had fallen when in years gone by I can remember them competing for players with top English Clubs. You mention the reason James chose Bristol City over you because he got more money. Isn't that why most players would chose one Club over another? Aren't you kind of proving my point? If you can't compete with Clubs financially, you won't be able to get the good players. Its just the way the modern game is. Unfortunate yes but its just the reality.

There's no doubting the fact that Celtic is a big Club. A visit to Paradise for any home game would show you that. But given the Goldfish bowl you live in up there, it limits your ability to attract top names and pay them the going rate. You make a fair point above in that if you were to move to the EPL, your infrastructure and Global network would allow you to grow and with the increased revenue you'd receive from the TV companies, you could eventually compete towards the top six of the table. However, were you to just be dropped in now in your current state, I fear you might not last a season.

I have the patience of a saint but even I have my limits.

He started off asking why we did not fancy a crack at the EPL and then proceeded to tell us we should be nowhere near it because we are not good enough, which is kinda strange seeing as how it was his suggestion that we come down in the 1st place.
