FULHAM are weighing up a move to prise Jamie Mackie away from QPR in January.

The talented forward is currently in the grip of a relegation battle with the Hoops.

And though QPR have put together a sequence of results under the stewardship under Harry Redknapp, it may not be enough to convince Mackie to stay at Loftus Road.

Fulham it seems want to steal a march on their Premier League rivals by snapping up Mackie.

According to fichajes.net, Mackie wants to play at a club with higher aspirations.

They also note that a deal between the two clubs could be struck for a fee of £3m.

Mackie has scored two Barclays Premier League goals this season.

He was a driving factor behind QPR surviving last season and scored in the club’s 3-2 defeat away to Manchester City on the final day.UNQUOTE

Moving because of higher aspirations? Doesn't sound like the loyal Mackie we know...

£3m? 'avin a laugh or what?

Okay so he's not the most talented of players - but if anyone around our way thinks that's the kind of money to swing the lead on the heart, soul and driving energy of our club and it's chances of reaching our potential, I'd be gobsmacked!

As for a more ambitious club, no disrespect but Fulham?!!! C'mon.

I'd rather keep Mackie than Taarabt. He's an essential part to our survival bid.

Fulham won't be after him not after the sitter he missed against them on Saturday.

"Mackie wants to play at a club with higher aspirations"

Isn't that the same club that Hughes left as they weren't sufficiently ambitious?

    Hmmm... Velly innerestin'

(Ah, just noticed Soops made the same point... Blush, blush)

Coming from you Yap, I don't know whether that's a slur or a compliment!!!

Seriously though, being 100% honest, I would prefer Mackie. He's been more consistent since our PL return and you always know what you're gonna get. Having said that, if Tarbs does what he did against Fulham on a more regular basis then of course it would be an entirely different scenario.

He's not done it yet though!

I think the pair of them are vital to achieve survival, as they proved last season.

Hes a tryer and a worker, but a talented forward, he is certainly not!.We will need more quality in the striker department for sure.

NO club has higher aspirations than us.

Okay, this season our priority is to survive, but can you really see Fullum doing so much better?

Swords you do talk a lot of bollocks, Adel is a far far better footballer than Jamie will ever be and that fact has become more apparent since Harry took over.

Technically of course he is. But when you look at Mackie's work rate, effect on team-spirit and decent levels of consistency - it brings him on par with Taarabt in my book. Which of course in itself means that Tarrabt has not reached anywhere near his potential yet. On pure skill alone he'd make a mockery of Mackie.

But if the game was based on pure skill alone, Dens, we'd be talking about a very rosy picture wouldn't we? As we know, things are rarely as simple as that.

I'm a Mackie fan though I have to confess he really should have put away his chance on Saturday. Here is a reminder of what he can be about!
