Festive Cheer

The future’s bright, it’s blue and white
Or so we thought with the Prem in sight.
Survived by a thread at Bolton’s expense
With assurances that next year won’t be so tense!

Eagerly awaiting Swans to the slaughter
Only to find we’re the butt of their laughter.
Don’t worry we cried, it’s only a glitch,
We won’t languish long in this unpleasant ditch.

We knew time was needed, in order to ‘gel’(!!!!!!!),
We didn't anticipate that waiting was hell!
When would that elusive first win come?
Not long, as judged by the game against Scum.

With loss, draw, loss, draw and two losses again,
Our parade was experiencing a torrent of rain.
Who could have forecast such a terrible run?
T’was now way beyond any concept of fun.

The clamour ‘gainst Hughes now started to grow
With a lone Twitter voice crying ‘stability’ so,
He was given til Soton when again we were beat
Before Tony effected a hasty retreat.

On MOTD, Harry carefully squirmed
When asked if as manager he’d been confirmed.
‘Mark’s a great manager’ he silkily lied,
Pass that pen quickly, I want the ink dried!

So loss after loss became draws and a win!!
After sixteen attempts – footballing sin.
Unwanted records now firmly set,
From out of this mess, Harry must now us get.

The future’s now brighter, there’s hope once again
Despite this poor run, Harry’s ended the pain.
With Toon and the Baggies in our festive sights,
Turn to BBC1 for amazing high lights!

To all fans of Rangers, tremendous good cheer.
God’s peace and harmony and no doubt some beer!
The Greatest Escape is now set in motion.
