Thursday December 20,2012 By Paul Joyce Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole is set to be Queens Park Rangersâ first signing of the January transfer window if they can agree a deal with the Anfield club on his wages. Cole, 31, has struggled to establish himself at Liverpool since returning from his loan spell at French club Lille and QPR manager Harry Redknapp wants to take him on loan until the end of the season. But the former England star is on a £90,000-a-week deal at Anfield and while QPR owner Tony Fernandes is prepared to cover most of that sum, he wants to come to a deal with Liverpool in which they pay a portion of it. Redknapp is today set to sit down with Fernandes with a list of his requirements for January, mainly loan deals. Apart from Cole, who was with him at West Ham, they include Nicolas Anelka, Peter Crouch and Kenwyne Jones. He will also try to offload players in January to make room for new arrivals. Jose Bosingwa and Esteban Granero are two who will be moved on if takers can be found. http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/366170?
My exact feeling Nuts. In all of that article the only bit I liked was the link to Crouch. We can't even dump Bosingwa without a replacement.
Would take Keane or Anelka on a six month loan deal along with getting DJ back. Genuinely not interested in Crouch as I can't see him scoring enough goals to save us. We need a tall young CB with pace to play with one of Hill or Nelsen. Thought Onouha would be that player but neither MH or Harry seem to rate him as a CB Bosingwa can go if Young is fit. No point carrying a player who obviously thinks he is too good for us. IMHO that's all we need. A CF on loan and a young CB with height and pace.
On JC he could do well for us especially given his links to redknapp. Not at all keen on le sulk don't think he is the answer to our striker situation. Would love to see crouchy back down the rangers
Fair points secret but really don't see how we need more midfielders especially wide men. We already have Adel, Hoillett, SWP and Mackie who can play wide. Crouch would be nice but can you honestly see him scoring enough goals for us? Anelka is a d**k but he knows where the goal is.
Sadly for you, Taarabt doesn't play the tippy tappy football your boss likes. And neither from what I've see does Gerrard. See you after Christmas.
As mentioned before something is up ... I have no idea what as I have always trusted my canine instincts ... I sniffed myself this morning and couldn't make head or tail of it. I can't comment about Joe Cole ... I love being QPR its never boring. I know one thing I wouldn't want youth ... I want experience
Well more than half the players we are linked with are over the hill, Lampard, Beckham, the Uruguay bloke, Cole, Anelka, Keane etc
I can only think there is a big offer for Granero and we know most of the dealing has started. I hope there is no truth in any of it remember this stuff always comes around this time of the year I don't think we really need anymore maybe a couple of loans at best
